Default Spilled 8-10 oz of coffee on passenger seat !!

Spilled 8-10 oz of coffee on the passenger seat of my 2015 LS460. It pooled up, i went to grab a towel and 30 seconds later the pool was gone and absorbed into the seat. Only a little bit seeped all the way to the floor of the car. The rest absorbed through the perforations and into the seat.

What do you recommend I do now???

Thanks
Eric

I did this to a brand new (<5 days old) Maxima back in 1998, so I know the oh **** feeling. In my case it fell into the gearshift and disappeared? I pulled over and saw coffee dripping onto the ground, and then realized the gearshift boot separated the road from the car in an indirect way In your case, can it be making its way to the underside of the cushion, or has the cushion definitely absorbed all the fluid? In my LS430 there are filters, I wonder if any fluid can make it there? I would try getting an absorbant bath towel to see if it can remove any of the liquid from above using pressure....good luck...

swapping the foam is the only way to get it 100%, personally I'd keep spraying with a gentle anti-bacterial cleaner like windex (all purpose stuff is anti-bact.) then keep trying to absorb it with a towel. When the liquid being absorbed no longer has coffee color, stick a fan in there for 12 hours to make sure the foam dries out all the way.

Make sure you condition the leather afterwards.

As an aside I have always wondered "what if" a person forgot the side windows and sunroof, and it poured. It has happened on my other forum, usually when one was relying upon some auto close feature to handle, and it didn't for some reason....my thoughts would be perhaps to hit a body shop and have them systematically remove pieces of the interior to dry them out...

I put a bunch of paper towels down, a couple of towels on top of those then two 65 pound dumbells for an hour. The paper towels are completely dry. So no liquid is going to come out of it. I like the idea of getting some anti-bacterial stuff down in there regularly for a while. Coffee is very acidic so I don't think mold will be an issue. Thanks for your response.
