That only counts if the buyer really wants those extra features, if a buyer just wants the 3.3t or 5.0 and does not care about all the extra features that come with them then they are still have to pay over 10K to get the bigger/better engine,
This is the case with EVERY car with an optional engine.
Bottom line is, the vast majority of drivers dont care about the engine.
Side note, I am pretty sure I've never seen a 3.3T on the road. I've seen a 5.0 once or twice. They're not common at all. At my office, there are only a couple 3.8s I have seen around.
I've seen one since that trim level came out. I thought ive seen a bunch more fairly recently but it turns out they now offer the Sport design package on the base engine. So I'm sure that is what I am seeing. Sport models look really good though.

I saw one grey 3.3t G80 Sport last year on the highway, it looked great, thought it was pretty much the nicest looking sedan in its segment. Other then that I don't recall seeing anymore 3.3t's, the rest from what I remember were mostly 3.8's but I have seen one or two 5.0 V8's. The original Hyundai Genesis V8's were quite common though, I used to see them everywhere, likely because the pricing was a good deal lower then it is now for one.
I could definitely see myself getting a 3.3t or 5.0 G80, I just wish the interiors were nicer which pushes me to the G90's which does have a much nicer interior.

i agree
but the new g80 isn't far off, and i expect genesis to step it up a lot, especially given how the lesser palisade and teluride are.
I have a feeling they might bring back the V8; if they make high performance version of the next gen G80. Something in the likes to compete with the M, RS or AMG brand lines, but in the end this is speculation from me. So take it with a grain of salt.
