Side note, love how Lexus introduced the touchscreen and AA/CP on the RX, a vehicle that no such interface before, but decided to snub the GX which has had a touchscreen till date in 2020 without any sort of AA or CP for its refresh.

The RX is the one we're talking about and you're complaining about.

Sounds like you should buy something from a different brand.

Ok then dont use "best selling" as a metric to judge how good or bad a car is.

I absolutely never do, and in fact in my experience "best selling" vehicles are rarely actually the best vehicles in their class. However, you can't make an argument that the manufacturers and designers of those vehicles dont know what they're doing...they absolutely do. They just aren't designing a vehicle for an enthusiast like you or me, they're designing it for the masses who care far less than we do about the details of a vehicle.

Case in point, a Toyota Camry. Its almost the last car I would buy in that segment, but it sells the best. Does Toyota know what they're doing when it comes to designing and building the Camry? Absolutely. The car I would buy is the Mazda 6, a car that sells quite poorly compared to its peers, but I think its a much better car. Still doesnt mean Mazda knows what they're doing and Toyota doesnt.

The Lexus RX is by and large a mainstream product and is not designed for enthusiasts. I had one today as a loaner, it doesnt appeal to me at all. It clearly appeals to a TON of people though...ergo, Lexus knows what they're doing.

Those PR guys really had a field day with this one lol. Its as though they forgot their own non-US adaptive headlights, or Audi Matrix, Or Mercedes multibeam, or BMW laser lights that all do this exact same thing this achieves.

I guess the only world first maybe the heightened adaptability/adjustability and/or the first headlamp from a Toyota product that is setup for failure by way of having a spinning mirror embedded inside of an headlamp.....yikes. I wonder what the rated durability on those things will be.

lol, bingo. It makes pedestrians recognizable at 2x the distance compared to old AHB system in Euro RX, even when there is a presence of multiple different obstacles, so i would say it works.

upgrade more then a worlds first. But moving the needle nonetheless. Again i wonder why a spinning mirror, when the same modules in other systems have less moving parts but not Toyota so meh
