Well, that infotainment system is antiquated to say the least! Isn't that map the same as what was launched in the 2006 IS?

No, 2006 IS had Gen5 Navigation. This GX runs Gen8. When it debuted as a MY10 it ran Gen6, they skipped Gen7 when they did the 2014 refresh. All other Lexus already are / or are transitioning from Gen9 to Gen10/10.5

Because this is just a stopgap refresh. An all new vehicle is coming.

They did when they did the big refresh for the LX, but that was a much bigger refresh than this which included a new dash, etc. I don't believe any cars are running the new nav without a widescreen nav screen.

All new is coming lol, all new is 5 years overdue. Why bother with this, i'll take a future Genesis SUV over this. The lamest car in Lexus's lineup, car looked ancient and in dire need of an all new update and they debut this, why?

Toyota just “wants” to be slow at responding and thus making appropriate updates and upgrades. Toyota has made updates mid cycle many many time in the past. LX470 did a solid update changing the interior. Second gen Tundra. Last gen Taco. Even the 2020 Sequoia keeps its old radio but gets a software enhancement to add Apple Car Play.

I remember a time when Toyota was very proficient at getting updates and upgrades sooner across the line.

Lexus really was quite lazy with this one. What interior changes were made? I can't tell a difference. They should have at least stuck a digital instrument cluster in it.

okay ill be the first to say i love the GX. ive always loved the GX but i too am very disappointed with the "new" GX. yes its a fully capable last of a dying breed true SUV. body on frame construction, with a naturally aspirated V8 instead of a 4 banger or v6 with a turbo charger crammed down its gullet. not many real SUVs like this left. its rugged, versatile, has great ergonomics and honestly has the best damn ML system of the whole line up. not just loud, its audiophile grade sound. it can haul the toys hell it can probably pull a house off its foundation. the GX is a work horse, however.. its 10 years old! from the side and the back its STILL 2010!! okay, its a good thing, they dont wanna change a good thing, but at what point can a good thing not be a good thing anymore because its just aged out!? okay, conservative, simple, classy and timeless styling. same can be said about the LS400. still looks good in traffic 20 years after it was replaced by the LS430, but it looks old! same as the GX. the design language has changed drastically with the rest of the lineup in the last 10 years and especially the last 3. -for example, think about how different the ES350 was in 2010. okay so the 2020 GX has a prettier face, a newer style steering wheel -which is the same wheel that first appeared in 2016 models, and an updated instrument cluster. thats literally it.

yes, the GX is a great solid well rounded SUV. if i was in the market for an SUV it would be the first thing i would consider, but COME ON!!!! GIVE US SOMETHING NEW!!!!!!

^^ good post, obviously you love the GX and it IS a very capable real off-road capable SUV, but also obvious is your disappointment at this weak upgrade effort.

oh and looking at your sig, you’ve had 8 LS400’s?
