Really boring, looks like a larger Passat, interior on the new A8's is even worse. I used to love A8's, this new one does nothing for me aside from some good accel numbers with the 8 cylinders. I can see why they are selling so bad just from the design inside and out.

Not everyone worships the altar of batteries and electric motors. Some people in that price-range still may prefer Audis for their time-proven Quattro AWD systems. Tesla may find a way to do electric AWD, but Audi, like Subaru, has been perfecting their ICE and hybrid AWD systems for almost 40 years.

What is going on with modern car design/designers? It can't all be dumb regulations and some designs still look good but the trend is concerning and disappointing, that goes for interiors especially.

The artist impressions of new vehicles in auto mags look so much better, maybe they should start looking to those guys for designers.

Tesla dual motor is an AWD system, what am I missing? And why would it take 40 years to perfect something?

find a way? Tesla already does AWD. this part of this video gives an excellent demo of how sophisticated their awd is, even allowing the car to pull with a single wheel. electric motors beat diffs.

Personally, I would rather have the Toyota mechanical full time 4WD set ups from the 4Runner, GX, LX or Land Cruiser for an SUV. Or dedicated shift 4WD like in the 4Runner TRD Pro. The Lexus sedans have an excellent Torsen awd design which I would also rather have. Any of the new awd set ups like in the Rav4 or other makes are excellent designs, so would this new Tesla design. But I just don't like the idea of electronics determining the 4wd workings.

so you're ok with the electronic design in the tesla, but not other electronic designs?
