1989 Buick Century Review (hilarious)
This is pretty funny LOL. My dad had one of these for a month while his Lincoln Continental was in the shop being repaired after an accident. It was special.

Yawn......one cannot accurately review cars by trying to be a stand-up comedian (Jeremy Clarkson proved that).
Yes, this car was the typical (for the period) GM Repair-Shop Queen. Having said that, though, the Century, IMO, was actually nicer-looking inside than the full-size Buicks of the period, which had bargain-basement materials inside. Couldn't beat those older full-size Buicks, though (even wth Cadillac) for silky ride comfort. In the Century/Regal, you could actually feel bumps......in the LeSabre and Park Avenue, you could not.

I agree it is more parody than review, but sometimes it's difficult to discern the narrator's intentions.
And, yes, this car is a perfect example of what Roger Smith did to GM while he was CEO.
(BTW, I remember test-driving a Century myself LOL). We also, at the time, had some similar Chevy Celebrity staff cars at our Government office that I occasionally drove....same car as the Century, with different trim. They were in the shop more than they were out.

This "review" is clearly meant to be funny, which is why I added "hilarious" to the title

I didn't find the mid-size Buicks of that vintage all that beloved. There is a reason why I avoided the brand for decades.

Of course they did--it was more socially acceptable be sexist, racist, and you-name-it-insensitive in the 1980s. So those who were offended had no choice but to sit and take it. Even more so in the 70s, 60s, 50s, etc., etc. Watch a few episodes of Mad Men.
Let's not get too nostalgic about such things.
