2021 Genesis G80

One thing is for sure with this brand. They are what I call design *****s. A new direction or language every generation or two. A facelift every two or three years. New names. New models. Lack of consistency or building a company theme. What happened to the dazzling sedan they created not too long ago that was touted as the greatest new thing? I guess it wasn't so amazing if they had to make another big shift.
These aren't all necessarily bad traits, but I feel sorry for anyone who has bought one of their products in the last six years. It's basically old and deflated in a short time.

i know you love to criticize everything lol, but genesis as a brand has only had g70, g80, g90. yes, there was equus and 'genesis' sedan and coupe when it was under the hyundai brand, but that was just part of the transition.

I saw a G80 Sport in downtown KC not too long ago, and it still looks fresh even though it's not "new" anymore. I think the outgoing model will age well.

Not quite the point of my post. I want(ed) to stress the drastic design changes the brand keeps making. Continually re-inventing an identity has it's drawbacks, like wrecking a previous model's momentum.
But I too agree, I rather have them shoot for the stars than make little effort. In fact, I think it's time Lexus completely revamps their theme. The jumbo schnoz look has run it's course and the rest of the industry has moved on.

For a brand new to market model with a brand new engine, up to 400hp from a 3.5 engine seems uncompetitive. Toyota gets 416 from the same size engine, Cadillac gets 400 from a 3.0 and Ford gets 400 from their 3.0

I think most of these makes with 3.5TT's like Genesis, Lexus, Ford in some applications are saving room for refreshes. These 3.5TT's are extremely capable.
The LS 3.5TT whipped up 50 horsepower would be perfect for a new IS F.

For sure, but the article says up to 400 hp....that is low for a new engine, new to market. A little criticism doesn't hurt.
