Should I get this S55 AMG?
New S55 AMG..
I would like to know what you people think. I found this one in West Palm, my only problem is its a 2003 model, even though they didn't make any changes, I sorta would like a 2004 model. I flew down and test drove this one and it only has only 42 miles on it. Take a look at the pics and tell me if you think I should settle for this one, or get a 04 silver one. Oh yeah, they are going to sell it to me for $105,000.00

the thing is, one of my business partners has a 2002 Silver one. The only really noticable change is the headlights. I can get this one for $20,000.00 less than an 04 model. So I might just get this one. I don't know.

Just get an 03+ S600, has more torque and more options are stock on it probably. My folks have their own 02 S600's and they are not bad cars, when the electronics work properly, just wish they had that damn bi-turbo V12 in them. If you get the S55, I don't think 03 or 04 makes a difference, you'll have an S55. Bottom line though, get what makes you happy, it's your $$$!

I was told by the dealership that the S55 has more torque (do to it being supercharged). It also has several upgrades that the S600 does not have.. Larger brakes, better exhaust, its lowered a bit more, and the bodykit.. I will probably end up getting that model.

Get the '03, save the 20K and put some decent rims on it (HRE's or some better AMG ones).
You lucky dog!

We all know about the horrible quality problems with MB. Even on there higher end models. Numerous articles and surveys have been done on this. You really want to spend $105K on a car that had these kind of issues?

yeah
Thats one reason I am going with the AMG model. It is suppose to have a far higher standard in quality. They tell me that the engines are completely hand built and they have to pass much higher quality checks. Plus, its a company write off. You have to realize why it costs me less to buy a $100+ car than a $70,000.00 car. Any corporation partners will know the answer to that.

Ok, seriously, you realize you have to get this car right? I don't know if you're keeping the CL55 too, but IMO this is one of the sexiest cars of recent years. My mom is getting a CLK500 and when we were at the dealership the guy let me sit in the E55 and he opened up the hood and i was speechless. These cars are soooo bad a**, and i suggest you get it, KEEP the twin 5 spoke AMGs (the open rims and drilled/slotted rotor combo... )and do some conservative mods and get it to about 500 hp and run over some M5s. Good luck and I say go for it because the '04s are gonna cost quite a bit more and this is basically as good.

Well we are an S Corp.. and each partner in a S Corp has to pay 1/4 of the taxes on whatever profit is left at the end of the year. By getting this car and using it as a profit tax right off then I am saving tens of thousands.
well, i don't really have any plans to mod it out. I like it stock.
And the SL55 is too small. I need something with room.
