Yeah but on the SupraMKVforum the vote between these two are close to 50/50, that’s not a good sign on a site dedicated to the MKV. That doesn’t mean people will take back deposits but it could change the mind of someone who thought about getting a new Supra before the debut of the C8.

90% of members on Supraforums aren't fans of the MKV. Don't believe me browse through the 2020 Supra sub-section there to see lol. MKV forums is more suited to fans and actual people that made deposits etc... No one on Supraforums is backing out as they weren't going to buy it in the first place, they rather have the C8 than the MKV. Not one single person on Supraforums has made a deposit and backed out, all the true fans are on mkvforums.
Go on there and see for yourself.
For MKIV crowd, C8 is even better fit because it has targa top and driver’s cockpit that were hallmarks of MKIV Supra.

Gotcha maybe just misunderstood you saying supraforums when there's supraforums and mkvforums. Targa never appealed to me hence me having a Hardtop. Hardtops are more desirable for MKIV's. Every single person I know with a MKIV Targa has never taken it off. But I do agree the C8 does have some appeal. I'm curious about the Z variants and what they will bring power wise, price etc...

I've bypassed most of this thread so forgive me if this is redundant but I'll just say I would be very, very worried if I were the competition.
Who would buy a Supra over a mid-engined Vette with a 495hp V8 for the same price? Really?

- Wants a BMW Z4 on the cheap
- Wants the legendary Supra name
- Prefers the aesthetics of the Supra
- Doesn't like Chevy
etc..
I mean there are plenty of reasons, it just depends on the person. It might not make sense, but there's no right or wrong answer. Buy what makes you happy

Supra will be more reliable and have better fit and finish by far.
Plus cheaper to mod with simple tune.
These next 5years will be the golden years for ICE powered cars.
So many amazing options from almost every brand.
There is room for both Supra and Corvette but C8 will outsell it at least by 3to1 margin.

Think about this, the same company that puts out a 65-70k truck "luxury trims" (Silverado High Country and Sierra Denali) yet has a trash interior compared to other makes. And trucks are suppose to have giant margins, yet they somehow did a complete 180 on a car with a much slimmer profit margin? Something is not passing the smell test but I remain cautiously optimistic.
Wait for option packages and pricing to be announced. That will be the true test. My prediction is the only specs worth a damn are going to be 80-85k.

OMG u need to stop with your track sessions LOL
The main priority was to fit 2 set of golf clubs. 90% of buyers are middle aged guys 50+ that want a cool car to take out on the weekend and give it the beans once in awhile.
The other 10% will have no issue tracking it bec NA V8 cars with LT1 were some of the most reliable.
As far as option packages - pricing will be same as C7.
z51 = 4-5k
2LT = 6-7k
Nothing else you need.
Final Price = $70-73k
BTW the white car at the debut didn’t even have Z51 package which is useless for many buyers.

i doubt the base C8 vette will be able to withstand track sessions like how the current C7 couldnt without the Z51 package (everything overheats if you dont have Z51). I foresee sticker shock and nickel and diming on options for the vette. If you have to buy the Z51 package to get michelin pilot sport tires, what is gonna be on the base? All seasons?
I'm expecting the C8 Stingray to cost $4-5k more than an equivalent C7, pretty much across the board. That means a 2LT with Z51 will be in the very low 70s. The 3LT with Z51 that I'll be looking at will be in the mid to upper 70s. Yes, there are a ton of individual options you can add on top of that, but the majority of these are fluff.
