Who buys a Corvette and adds snow tires? There are a great number of places where the temp gets close to freezing or under but there is no snow, hence why all seasons would work for the base model. This is a really good move by Chevrolet, especially if their customers are telling them what they want.

heat exchangers need airflow to function. Which is why C7Z owners cut more air inlets into their front bumpers to accommodate new exchangers.
Increasing airflow does not automatically increase cooling efficiency. Depends how much HP you are looking to push but you don’t necessarily need to have more inlets. You can get by with more efficient heat exchangers.

people added aftermarket radiators and it still went into limp mode. Limp mode went away once people started cutting holes in their bumper to let more air in. Funny how that works. ZL1 and ZR1 have huge air intakes for this very reason. Exchangers dont do squat if they dont have enough airflow.

Instant praise when it hasnt proved anything to anyone yet? Are people that easy to win over?

I have personally seen C7's with aftermarket heat exchangers at the track not go into limp mode so your statements are incorrect.

the corvette is obviously an american icon. so most are positive and praiseworthy and expect it to be great.

obviously facts and time can change some of that, so then you say "see?"

not every C7Z limp moded either. I paid attention to the 5500 post 650k view overheating thread years ago on the C7Z forum and that is what some people experienced, no reduction in fluid temperatures after adding dewitts radiators. The fact that the same radiator on the Z06 was used as the base C7 despite a significant increase in heatload was a stupid design decision. In motor trends head 2 head the Z06 they put against the viper embarassingly overheated as well. Looks like according to the thread that if you fix the engine overheating the transmission is next. Theres even an anecdotal post of someone talking to Randy Probst on the ZR1 and he said even that overheats too.

Engine cooling fix, its cheaper to buy the car when you have to complete the engineering yourself after the fact, but it voids the warranty

Almost $8K if you want to cool everything

reddit thread saying ZL1 is a better track car (better air flow and doesnt overheat) and Z06 issues werent fixed
https://www.reddit.com/r/cars/commen..._with_the_z06/

Again. I hope Chevy learned their lesson from the Z06 when designing the C8

The airscoops are ginormous on the C8, almost so much that it makes the car look funny. But it gets a pass bc it's functional.

mid engine cars are harder to cool than front engine because of the narrower front profile, less surface area for radiators. It has more intakes for a reason

Honestly nobody expressing interest in C8 is worried about cooling issues that hampered small amount of early production Automatic Z06s. You keep on saying same thing but it’s really irrelevant.

I’m more worried if body panels are lined up correctly and potential electric issues etc.

youre probably right since most Z06 owners never tracked the most track capable corvette at the time. Its irrelevant to them. GM probably made a calculated decision with this. A thread with 5500 responses and 650k views thats been stickied for several years, class action lawsuits doesn't sound like a small amount. They openly joke there not to buy the automatic if you want to track. How this made it past GM testing is beyond me. I guess you forgot the Z06 also going down during the motor trend head 2 head test with Randy when it was going against the viper. That was embarrassing. Did you know the C7Z design temperature for ambient is only 86 deg for tracking, and this is for the manual transmission. Meaning the auto is even lower than that. That is an utter joke of a cooling system design temperature. It gets much warmer than this at many tracks especially the pavement temps.

still overheating after the "fix" It is not early production ones.

Remember, Corvettes have fiberglass body-panels, and they are not stamped or assembled in the same manner as traditional sheet-steel.

4TehNguyen - thanks we got your point (many times), you think Corvettes suck and GM sucks by making them so they overheat if they're actually driven.
