We all love the RCF I think, but I would take a C8 over a RCF in a heart beat. I wouldn't even compare them in any way outside of both having NA V8's.

If I had the cash, I would for sure get this over a Supra.

That's insane. It's a NA motor putting 650hp to the crank???? Nothing like a good-old Chevy small-block.

Wow, I wonder why they underrated the engine so much. Maybe they measured for "worst case scenario"

This news makes me think:

- bolsters its chances for COTY
- competition should be even more worried
- the C8 was already a performance bargain

Engines are sometimes underrated for auto insurance premiums. Corvette premiums, particularly for risky drivers, can be an arm and a leg.

wait for actual production ones, instead of trusting a press prototype. Wouldn't one think with engine power numbers like this it should be pulling better performance numbers especially with a DCT? So youre telling me this OHV engine is making over 100hp/liter, which is what some of the best DOHC engines can make. The C7 6.2 OHV made around 75hp/liter so im being told its been increased by over 33.333%? Definitely believable. Imagine if this engine had DOHC, it would rival turbochargers specific output!

C8 is why the interiors suck in the newest GM 1500s.

One reason I read (not sure how accurate) is that GM is one of only a few manufacturers that get their output certified by SAE, and that process runs the engine progressively harder over a longer period of time than a typical dyno pull, with very little cooling.

Impressive power compared to what it advertised stock, sounds like a press release ringer car though but who knows.

remember when C&D reported the new supra as having 427 ft# of torque? But when other outlets reported it was more like 380 ft# having similar hp figures? Wait and see

Horsepower is what sells sportscars, no company would be stupid enough to underrate by 150 hp

Plus cheaper to mod with simple tune.

There is room for both Supra and Corvette but C8 will outsell it at least by 3to1 margin.

Demand for the C8 is probably going to be huge, with the hype it has been getting in the auto press. Plus, it is an honest Chevrolet/GM product...the fact that the Supra is a hybrid Toyota/BMW mix has a lot of potential customers turned off.
