I think there is a difference between not liking something vs understanding how something is important in a specific segment and therefor being appreciative of it. I saw it at the Toronto Auto Show, they had two of them. I didn't really care for it, it looks smaller in person than the outgoing model. The wheels and brakes look small. And for some reason I did not feel it was a Corvette (from the way they used to build them) (personally, I think an RC-F Track is way more interesting). However, in this day age of the Tesla EV performance, the new Vette is getting accolades for the performance and ride and comfort. In this era of cross overs and modular productions, it is very hard to not appreciate the effort by GM. I read that an EV Corvette is coming as the design of the new permits its.

This is a tremendous vehicle for GM...(a company that is loathed on this forum)

I just saw a C8 on the street and man, it just has presence. It's gorgeous. However, it wasn't very loud. Needs an exhaust.

The aftermarket will handle that I'm sure very soon. I'm curious about how it will sound with a straight pipe setup considering its mid-engine layout. Looks like there's room in the bay for a nice bolt-on Twin Turbo setup too.

plenty of room up top for supercharger too. The engine is kinda crammed in there to reach the exhaust manifolds. However I heard GM maybe encrypting the ECU on these

However, there's no room for a pulley to actually drive one. the valve cover is tucked up tight against the firewall and underneath a "lip" that supports the rear window.

not sure what we are looking at? Stitching looks a bit jagged. Unaligned trim up top

When I saw some of the prices of the new Corvette and Cadillac’s, I thought they sacrificed reliability more so than ever. But yeah, something has to give.

I'm getting one, but I'm delaying a year or two. The opportunity cost of putting $80k in cash into a deprecating asset vs the market at this time is way too high.
