oh, he bought a base car and is just adding the parts from Z51 that he wants.

Even the wheels were outrageously pricey to get in black (maybe part of a package?) and they give you 2 sets of wheels too....so he had them powder-coated himself.

Those look like the ordinary JL9 brakes which are the typical GM FNC rotors. One would think a Grand Sport would still get the J56's like on the C7's, has to, right? I don't think in this lifetime would I ever be able to afford J57's lol not even if my net worth reached 1 billion...

I think the Grand Sport is in the sweet spot for me. Z0x and ZR1 are untouchable....

Yes the hp numbers and revs will be high but you have to rev it up there to get it.

Shouldve been a 7.0 DOHC. Revvy engine is not part of an american sportscar or corvette identity, just more boring Euro copying. Imagine this car with the euro mid engine looks with an angry large american V8 sound. Totally unique
Do you have 1 positive thing to say?
You got a Viper and Mustang in your sig which will get destroyed in any performance test against the base Corvette even without Z51 pack.

why do you keep posting if you hate this car so much lol

You know a base non Z51 corvette comes with all season tires? ANY performance test? Since you like comparisons, last gen corvette still couldn't beat a viper on the Ring, even with 100 more hp (ZR1) and an automatic. So how is a version that is 495hp/3650# (200# more than last gens Z51) vs a 640hp/3350# car going to turn out on a road course? So Im quite confident that a used dodge can beat a base C8 in most performance tests.

Dont you find it strange how the C6 Z06 (505 hp 7.0 liter, manual only) is still 7 sec faster than the C8 despite parts of the Ring being resurfaced (results in faster lap times) since 2012. Meaning if the C8 drove on the 2012 version of the track it would be even more than 7 sec. There is still no official time for the C7Z either, probably overheated or is too embarassing to post.

I wonder how it will work out, apparently 1 g was still a goal with those all season tires. The Michelin Premiers made the claim of good when new and good when worn and ignore the pieces of tire falling off along the way, I think the claim was false as demonstrated by Michelin redoing the LTX version and adding 1.5/32 to the prior 8.5/32. Now an all season better than former summer only. Anybody have an inkling on if it's true or will pan out? Most certainly it's counter-intuitive like the Premiers.

Is their a reason the c8 is not happy doing donuts or burnouts? Folks seem to get cels right after?

Seems like the C8 is finally has an abundance of something the previous generations lacked. Traction.

Ferrari vs ford mover over...... Chevy vs everybody

Some performance numbers from Drag Times. That C8 looks so menacing.

I always like their videos. Mid 11's at 118mph, not sure how accurate that is but its not bad for the price. It's pretty clear that if a Model 3P gets a jump on you it will take a while to catch it, if at all.

New platform some folks still figuring it out in one video the car was restricted to 3500 rmps until it got to 500 miles. Give it some time.

Corvette had very loyal client base that manufacturer actually listened to - same with Mustang, 911, Wrangler etc.
Most owners want to drive all year round and dont go tracking their car.

For those that want summer Michelins and track suitable car - just check off Z51 package. Summer tires are included as well as better brakes, firmer susp, more cooling etc.

It seems ECU cuts fuel when you try burnouts/ donuts.

Chevy should have special mode to allow for this, hopefully this gets programmed later on.
