Probably because they already have.... 330 GT (Gran Turismo 🤦*♂️).

i think it's 3 for sedans and 4 for 'coupes' which now includes 2 doors and 5 door hatches.

4GC is classified as a 4door Coupe as it shares everything with standard F32 2door Coupe such as styling, engines, options etc.
The F30 3series sedan had different production timeline and body styling as well as other changes to suspension etc.

Somewhat related to another recent thread -- she went out of town and left the car running at an airport lot - they ran her temp tag thru local police and called her to let her know it was left running. so approx about 28 hours after she parked it, I went to the lot and turned it off.

She told me it was pouring down rain and she was in a mad rush to get to a shuttle bus.
it IS sort of tricky - for one -- the car of course has auto shut-off, secondly, even when turned off the radio stays on unless you hit the power button twice - which is idiotic to me.

When I got there the door was locked and yes, the engine was running. Had 1/4 tank of gas left - I think this was with only 50 miles on the car, LOL!

I owned a couple of keyless ignition cars before (Prius, IS250, IS350, C6) and never have had an issue.

the radio stays on so bluetooth calls can keep going. Otherwise it d/cs your call if you turn the car off. Common feature nowadays in cars. Otherwise you'd have to sit there and idle your car while you are on a call

In my cars it doesn't disconnect the call, it just returns it to the handset.

Yes but on the BMW F30, you still need to press the start button 2x to fully shut off the car (although, if you press 1x, it will shut down in about 8-10 minutes). It's mildly annoying.

BMW owners, because your active call won't automatically transfer back to your phone when the car is fully shut off. It kinda holds you hostage unless you manually transfer the call in BT phone settings.

This is more than mildly annoying.

strange, in previous bmw and mb i have owned, when shutting off the car, yes, the radio and BT will still function, but as soon as i opened the driver door (to exit the vehicle) everything shuts off. that was the case in our e93 m3, and also the case even in our latest GLE. i agree if in the latest bmw you have to press the button twice no matter what to shut everything off then it doesn't make sense (and weird).

to be honest i think this is good feature (vs lexus where it shuts off everything right away). sometimes i get back into my garage and i know i am ending the call soon, i don't want to run my car anymore so i just shut it off and finish my last min of call or so before exiting the car, at which point opening the door shuts off all systems.

The NAV/radio stays on if you hit Engine off but once u come out of the car and lock it with key fob button - everything turns off right away. If you forget to lock it Radio/Nav shuts down in about 2-3minutes.

I have had BMWs for past 10yrs and they all functioned this way and never had issues.

Great looking car. I just hate the name, and the fact that it's the 4 door version of the 2 door version of the 3 series haha
