Here's what's inside an automatic transmission and how it works!






This transmission is from the RWD G35. All of its internal components are located along one axis, with no countershafts, since this is mounted longitudinally.

A closer look at how the sun gear will fit between the planetary gears inside the planet carrier. The entire assembly will then be inserted into the ring gear.

Good display, speedkar, but I think you left out one important part, although not all automatic transmissions these days have them.....the fluid Torque Converter.

Indeed important, I chose to leave that one for later, its a topic of its own.

I already made a torque converter video from the last car I cut up:
