Ifs cheaper to get into a Lexus or Mercedes at the lowest piece than it is to get into a Lincoln. So the tier 1 or 2 thing is quite misleading. A Navigator or Escalade is definitely in the same class as a LX.

Trexus takes time to put together these data sets and we should be thankful. They’re interesting and especially relevant as this is a Lexus forum.
not sure why you would say that. I wouldn’t say the LX isn’t any more comparable to the navigator or escalade than it is to the X7 based on size alone. the LX is obviously legendary in terms of off road capability and toughness/reliability.
The X7 is not really the vehicle to compare to against and LX. Navigator. Escalade yes.

not going to agree with you there these days. with most of the lexus range very dated, a much smaller range compared to those other brands, and the bulk of sales from two affordable premium vehicles (RX, ES), i don’t consider lexus as a ‘tier 1’.

Lexus really has nothing that compares with an X7

I agree the lx is unique, has its faithful buyers, and hard to compare to anything else really.
and definitely not the navigator which is brand new, and a whole different league in terms of luxuriousness and size.

An X7 on the hand is a next-generation crossover that Lexus does not have anything to compare with. Cadillac does with their XT6 but is crappy. Lincoln does with their Aviator. Range Rover does with their Velar. Mercedes does with their model.

the navigator for example is TEN inches longer than the LX. The lx, coming from the land cruiser, was not meant to be a giant 3 row suv. The optional third row is very cramped. But on the flip side, it’s designed to go rock crawling, fording streams, steep hills, very uneven terrain, etc., something the navigator would have no chance with.

For shyts and giggles.

Thank you for the appreciation. Yes it does take time to gather the data and it's still a work in process. As each months go by I will try to improve my posts with comparison of sales of various luxury makes (primarily Lexus, BMW, Mercedes and Audi).

I computed the 2,500 projection at the beginning of this year and I kept that projection since but you are correct.
