Yes, I use a now 10 year old Macbook Pro....still works great, and it's had a rough life.

About Auto vs. Manual, it might as well be politics.....nobody's getting through to the other side. I do everything but yell at my spouse (not in a serious way) every time I drive the other car. Auto is there for a reason...use it.

I have to wonder about the increased likelihood of failure of blend door actuators and such with auto adjusting things constantly.

Interesting comment. I wonder if auto makes the system last not as long

Doubt it. In any case people who manually adjust are using those actuators, too.

Oh Definitely. My concern would be if one uses them more than the other.

Good points on both. Probably a wash.

on the Audi A5 I had, I never noticed the blower going crazy loud in the summer when entering a hot car and it was always on AUTO - maybe Audi uses better designed, higher quality blowers that aren't annoying loud??

You definitely see more blend door failures, etc with automatic systems.

I see the 3 speed auto feature is also on the new ford escape, so not so ‘exclusive’ for lincoln, lol

Perhaps. I just hate that it has a mind of its own. Seems to never slow down as fast I would would want it to.

I don’t even think about what the climate control is doing. It just keeps me comfortable.

That's the whole point that the "non-auto" people don't agree with. I may change degrees by 3 or 4, but that's the extent of the thought I put into my climate control.

It's like, why would I turn my auto wipers off? My auto recirc/fresh? Auto headlights?

I get it that people are different than me and I respect that but I'll never understand it. Auto anything is supposed to make your life easier.

Agreed. My cousin can’t stand automatic headlights, he wants to turn them on and off himself. I don’t get it.

Put me firmly in the "set auto and leave it alone" camp. My car is on auto and my home HVAC is set on a program and hasn't been touched in 5 years except for vacations where we put it in an economy mode while we're gone. I'm not trying to make some statement about control, I just want to be comfortable and the auto setting does that for me.

Like I said, this might as well be politics. There is NO changing of minds on this topic.

I get in my spouse's car and ALWAYS have to put it on auto because it's on some stupid manual setting.

We'll take the (non-serious) arguing over it to our graves.
