Recycling plants are coming online. In 10-12 years when batteries begin dying, they should be able to mostly be recycled. I imagine the Hummer will mostly be popular in Cali by people that have large houses and garages and solar panels so it should be greener. Most of the people I know in Cali with EVs have solar.

Well, the Impala at least got a couple of months respite.....originally, it was going cease at the end of last year. Sales apparently weren't as bad as the GM marketers were trying to lead us to believe.
Still, GM's marketers just removed one more reason for me to be a repeat customer....at least without a premature trade-in.

Like some other members here on Car Chat, I have no idea what I will be driving next. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. But I don't think the sedan-choice will be quite that limited. Look at Cadillac, for example...they alone have two brand-new sedans coming in just the next few months (CT5, CT4).
And, despite a couple of small flaws in its design and construction, I also like my Lacrosse....I'm not going to be forced to trade it in early just because the Bozo-marketers at Buick and Chevy decided to ax so many sedans. Last, one of the few SUVs that I have at least some interest in (the Lincoln Corsair) is a relatively new design from a manufacturer (Ford) that is known for teething problems the first year....it's best to wait a least a year or two after they are introduced before considering springing for one.
