2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

OK...point taken. Still the first type of ignition-switch I've seen like that....where you (apparently) twist the **** to start it. Before the push-buttons became almost universally standard recently, a few vehicles had raised-tabs on the column-switch that you twisted instead of turning the **** itself.

Folks, look at that start-engine ****. I think I see something interesting. See the two small icons printed on the bottom?...and the arrow on the first icon? It looks to me like, instead of pressing the button, you twist it clockwise to start the engine. The icon next to it, with the "X", apparently means don't press it. Another clue is the "RUN" position on the **** itself.

Many Volvos have a twist to start ignition button on the console.

Jeep's latest Grand Wagoneer teaser plays the heritage card
Posted on the firm's official YouTube channel, the 15-second video begins with footage of the original Grand Wagoneer made between the 1984 and 1991 model years. As the camera zooms out, the flick shows the 9.2-inch digital rear-view mirror that will be offered on the upcoming 2022 model.

Jeep Teases Grand Wagoneer Again and Announces a Reveal Date
The Grand Wagoneer full-size SUV comes into view with close-up shots of its shiny details, and it will be shown in full on September 3.

- Jeep released more teaser photos of the new Grand Wagoneer, and has also announced a reveal date: September 3.
- The teaser photos reveal a front grille with a retro look and lots of chrome.
- The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will likely go on sale in mid-2021.
The photo of the grille shows that Jeep is maintaining some of the design cues from older Grand Wagoneer models, including the chrome and a squared-off design. Take a look at the Wagoneer Roadtrip concept shown in 2018, which was based on a 1965 Wagoneer, and there's a clear resemblance between the old and new grille shapes.

Jeep Teases Grand Wagoneer's Badge and Interior
Jeep Grand Wagoneer Could Be Nearing Its Debut
The photo of the interior **** leaves quite a bit to the imagination, but does show off Jeep's attention to detail in revamping this classic SUV. We know that it'll be offered in two versions, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, with the latter likely being an extended-wheelbase sibling to the former. The SUV will have its sights on the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban. It's expected to ride on the Ram 1500'sbody-on-frame platform and come with two engine options, a V-6 and V-8. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants are also expected.

Just last Friday, Jeep revealed the badge of the Grand Wagoneer, as well as the interior start and stop button. So with one more Friday before the September 3rd reveal, perhaps another teaser is due before we see the full vehicle.

They were in some of the Chrysler ads, but I can't find any surviving examples on YouTube.
They were also in the compact Chrysler 200 sedan that I wrote up some years ago...I don't remember if I did a full-review on it or not.
Though not particularly comfortable or cushy, Valiants were excellent cars.....particularly the Slant Six engines. In high school, I learned to drive in both stick and automatic versions of them, and spent the majority of my first two years behind the wheel in them.

Those look like they belonged in my dad's '73 Plymouth Valient.
