I bet that hybrid Highlander will outsell Palisade and Telluride by itself. 35 mpg in a useable family SUV is the sweet spot.
Hybrid Highlander is going to be a massive hit. I don't know if it would outsell both, time will tell. All the growth for Toyota will be in the hybrid part of the sales mix.

I didn't mean both combined but individually both. Perhaps I should have been more clear I would personally pick a Telluride simply because the 3rd row is more useable.
Palisade and Telluride each sell around 5K/mo. We'll see if the new Highlander Hybrid can do same or more... i suspect it can.
Do you think that is because demand is outstripping supply for the Palisade/Telluride? I ask because most of either SUV's sell within a couple of days hitting dealer lots?
All that said, I personally feel the Honda CR-V is superior to the RAV4 yet the RAV4 sells in droves, so I'm confident the Highlander will also sell a ton, hybrid and otherwise.

Honda products are slowly becoming worrisome, so much that the company has decided to publicly make statements to that effect. 1.5L motor fuel oil dilution

that's an interesting point, and a great 'problem' for hyundai/kia to have... i wonder if they're working on increasing supply.

i agree that (just my opinion) the cr-v is a lot nicer than the rav4, although the rav4 hybrid is likely a better fuel sipper than the crv hybrid which i don't even think is out yet.
i haven't driven the latest versions of either but someone i know just got a rav4 (pretty basic trim) and i just found the interior to be awful. i also don't like the exterior look. i'm sure the rav4 drives just fine though.
Toyota sells over 10,000 Rav4 hybrids each month. I have no idea what the KIA,/Hyn twins sell combined, I would expect the Highlander to increase their overall sales about 15-20% which would be mostly from the hybrid Highlander. 35MPG combined is huge.
