btw, even Corolla has 2 different wheebases, so i dont think they even care if it is same wheelbase as Camry or Avalon, or whatever you were actually alluding to.

When it comes to wheelbase, maybe they are finally looking to seriously offer it worldwide, as possible addition of 300h engine suggests. As such, wheelbase is already too big for many markets.

More here.

Look at some of the photos from the different angles, this is one of the better teasers I have seen Toyota ever do.

Looking forward to this car, as I'll likely be a buyer in this segment in the next 2 years...current Highlander is really bland...

I think the current HL is a bit bland too, but I really do see the appeal to it. I do hope the new HL is not a copy of the current RAV4. Hopefully they make something unique. Strangely enough, the HL is the only North American has model with the 3.5 that has start stop. A very strange thing for Toyota to do.

I’m a bit excited for the reveal as well. We’ve been really, really happy with ours thus far. We’re at 21k miles in ours, just shy of 3 years. Not a single issue or warranty repair, and we really have no complaints.

Well, I hope I don’t like the new one too much, as we plan on keeping ours long term...

I'll likely be a leaser too in 2yrs. As much as I love my GX, 15mpg is not going to cut it and yes I knew this going in but the 3rd row is usable in the GX, not the current HL.

I wouldnt mind RAV4 styling on a bigger package. The RAV4 looks distinctive and rugged. I hope the stop start goes away and they introduce a new power plant with more power. The 3.5L is no longer cutting.

Oh I totally see the appeal, its spacious, endlessly reliable, comfortable and nice driving.

I can say that, after moving to a 3 row vehicle, it would be really hard to go without in the future. We use the Highlander 3rd row fairly frequently, despite being a family of 4. I can't imagine we'll be without a 3rd row again for as long as we have kids at home. It's just too convenient.

The only problem I have with the current third row is how little room there is left behind it for cargo. It gets pretty small with that seat up, so it would be nice if they can improve upon that with the next gen.

Its pretty interesting and it’s fun for a Toyota fan. I wonder how it never made its way to a Lexus model. My 4Runner has prevention thing that does not allow the starter to engage a second time if the car is running. Hidden stuff like that is what I like

Kia Telluride looks very good. I have not driven it but from the reviews it seems KIA has a winner. It makes the current highlander look very very plain.

I always liked that with my 4Runner. A quick turn and release of the key and you’re set!

You are talking about the auto crank? Where you don’t have to hold the key to turn over?
