And here we go...

A bit underwhelming. Always held the Highlander to a high standard. It's a mild change, but still retains the ugly extended front overhang and high hood. Now throw in kangaroo hips at the rear fenders and the whole body comes across as flabby.
Dash seems like an improvement. At least the unsightly black hole shelf is better integrated.
Nice to see a traditional gear shifter with proper for and aft shift patterns. Gauge package is particularly attractive.
Will sell well, as it always has.
Really though, what is most interesting and important here is the lack of a massive grille. As it's written at Autoblog, could this be the end of massive Toyota grilles? Let's hope so. Most car styling trends last about one or two generations. The new Rav4 also has the toned down grille. Let's see what happens with the facelifted Camry, which is next on board.

i swear the windows on these cars get smaller every year...
interior looks nice though, i appreciate that they've followed my design principle of "tasteful integration" when it comes to the placement of the screens

Interior is much nicer than before, and finally 4cly hybrid with 240hp that will also likely go to next RX worldwide.
Exterior looks like a ... Subaru? Might end up looking nicer in real life as usual with Toyotas.

I like some of it, and don't like some of it. The exterior is OK, kind of a meh. I do not like how you can see so much of the rear chassis from the back. Interior and dash looks great. Sad to see the cruise stalk go and not more dedicated A/C button but overall, interior looks great

Ha, looks like Toyota took it safe I wish they had done more with the car , but I guess and I mean loyal Toyota buyers and current Highlander lease owners will have no trouble upgrading their current models to this one, the exterior looks more like an update to me then a whole new model, the dash is a Corolla XL to my eyes. Toyota seems to make the cargo room smaller and smaller with their new SUVs they did the same with the RAV4. I think afaik this is the first Toyota with Apple Carplay\Android auto together.

Does the roof seem a little low? All recent Toyota models have lower roofs than before. Does this translate into less headroom for the new highlander? I thought the article mentioned less interior volume than before?? Perhaps it’s due to the lower roof?

It looks lower to me. It would be disappointing if the roof got lower.

Wow, talk about phoning it in... seems more like a refresh than a new model, but much uglier outside and inside. Hood line is so high the window height is abysmal. Huge fail. With much more competition now i don’t believe it will sell better than the current one. The hybrid 4 power train will make hypermilers and misers happy but will drive like a slug.
i mean there’s nothing at all to say ‘wow, Toyota, great job on that!’.
