I went to check out a new Yukon Denali, as our family needs are changing. The one we looked at (Yukon XL Denali) was $92k, and dealer would not budge on it.
I am sorry, but there is no reason whatsoever for one of these to cost that much. The tech is not anything special, same can be had in any other large SUV. What family that needs that much space can afford a $92,000 family car? Denali or not, these things are ubsurdly priced. I even went down a trim and looked at the Tahoe LTZ, Z71. Again, $85k. WHY?! Its a freaking chevy?

its all relative. For instance, one the guys at my office just got a beautiful loaded Denali Yukon. His wife has a Range Rover. But, they make about $400,000 a year each. So, if you have $800,000 a year in income, its not that crazy.

The answer is lots, and lots of them. If people couldn't buy them, and didnt buy them, they wouldn't be priced there.
Now to be fair, you looked at a Yukon absolutely as expensive as can be built. Most Yukons will sell in the 60s and 70s, same with Tahoes.
The reality is, money isn't worth what it used to be and if you adjust these prices for inflation all of a sudden you find that they aren't any more expensive than they were 20 years ago.

Adjusted for inflation that's about $68k in 2020 dollars which would buy a really nice Yukon, if not quite a fully loaded Denali. (Like mine.)
(Inflation calculators are lots of fun, just FWIW for any nerds like me. Now that I'm almost 40 I look back 20 years and remember prices of everything clearly. $30k back then would get you a very nice entry-level luxury car.)

Yeah but that entry level Audi is not to the level of what $30k cars were 20 years ago, luxury car companies have moved downmarket in those lower price points.

Don't they cover the sheetmetal with that peelable, white plastic film after it leaves the factory building, like nearly all other brands? Seems too simple... maybe no one is able to do that anymore for some odd reason? Thought I still see them on car carriers with the white film.

you have a bunch of vehicles, so it would make more financial sense to just sell a few.
spending less on cars does make financial sense and if that's one's highest priority, fine, but most want to LIKE what they drive.
otherwise, drive a corolla for 30 years.

Bahaha. I have four vehicles...I own them all and I don’t lease em....A new 4Runner 2021 is also on the way to replace the LX450 as it’s too damn old...my Corolla is superb...easygoing, no fuss, smooth, easy controls, 34mpg and super low maintenance. (I don’t complain as it is just perfect as a daily)...but yeah, speak for yourself, your Lacrosse your ditching and your super tricked out roll stops so you don’t shut down at the stop sign....or the fussy electronic shifter your leaving behind...please leave me out of the discussion with other members who have been commenting....I really want no part of it.

Motorweek tested a High Country Tahoe and liked it, it was a nice review. I think it looks great.
But again like I’ve said, they can’t do acceleration tests accurately and never have been consistent with them.
7.1 seconds 0-60 with the monster 6.2???
Thats about a second and half off.
7.1 is about what a Suburban with the 5.3 will do.
