All new 2021 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe

I saw a brand new black '21 Yukon Denali just a few minutes ago.
Looks great.
I didn't catch a glimpse of it for too long, but I almost thought it doesn't look as big as the outgoing one. That could be totally just because I was driving my truck (which is that size and ride height) that I haven't driven in literally months until today. So that could have skewed it.
Overall it looked great though, love the quad tailpipes.
I read a MT test of the Chevy, they hate the push button shifter. It looks like something Fisher Price; bring me back that chunky column shifter, please!

On a sidenote, I can't believe that a new Tahoe High Country has an $80k sticker (that's what it is in my local market). I must be completely disconnected to new car prices.

If a Tahoe is $80k, how much is the Escalade??! I will say I watched a video on the new Escalade and that new interior is really incredible - especially the screen (I think they said it was 38" diagonally)...

BTW, I agree with you....the column shifter is a better choice than almost any of the E-Shift options. GM made a mistake getting rid of it this year.

When the last Escalade debuted in like 2014? I remember the Cadillac product and marketing guys were so adamant that their owners want the chunky column shifter and they broke the Mercedes GLS column stalk e-shifter when they drove it. Guess now the Escalade gets the "tough" joystick while the Chevy and GMC deal with buttons.

I've seen a few new Tahoe's in the last couple of weeks. I'm on the fence on the exterior right now compared to a '19 or '20 where I really like the combo of the grille and headlights (I'm more of a Tahoe fan than Yukon fan), but I'm sure they will grow on me over time. What angle did you see the Denali from? I do think they look much more sleek from the side due to everyone taking more of a Range Rover roof profile (Expedition, Navigator, Aviator, etc) but the overall size looked pretty similar to me.
When I drove them, the buttons were pretty easy to get used to, within easier reach than some of their other iterations (Acadia and Terrain). You could actuate the buttons without looking at them and know which one is which thanks to push/pull, similar to Honda/Acura using trigger pull for Reverse, etc.

I wasn't aware of the PR you were mentioning about the 2014 column shifter, but I absolutely believe it. You're driving a truck, after all.

MT comparo, Tahoe takes first place over Expedition.
Love what they said about the column shifter, and pleasantly surprised how happy they were with the 5.3 versus the Ecoboost.
I have yet to see a legit road test with any of them that have the 6.2.

A coworker of mine just got a new Yukon Denali, saw it today...its sharp.
As for an Escalade being as close to a Brougham or Deville you can get, it drives and rides nothing like one of those cars, column shifter or not lol. Escalades ride quite hard (outgoing gen, anyways)

The GM trucks are an excellent work of art. They were at the Toronto Auto Show The segment is weak with competitors, as a that is part of the success. So that has something to do with it. But you are seeing the fruits of GMs labour when they cancelled those large sedans and poured their resources into these trucks.
