Good choice. I'm glad you stayed away from wrong wheel drive
Haha , ain’t that the truth 😂. I really wanted to like the FWD mainstream sedans, but the driving experience is not the same. No, it doesn’t handle like a go-kart, but it’s a solid grand tourer.
Nice! Get that baby home before our weather turns even crummier around here.
What weather??? It’s sunny and 75..... somewhere😀. Wife is already complaining that she doesn’t want to go tonight (50min drive to the dealership). Might have to call some friends.

That's part of the dilemma I am facing with my car-shopping. Most of the options in my price bracket are, sadly, FWD or FWD-based. However, the drivetrain layout isn't everything - I think tuning goes a long way to making a car fun.
Congrats on the pickup by the way! Looking forward to hearing the full story.

The mid size FWD cars aren't that great on handling. Type R is really good but the biggest weakness of FWD is that it can handle only low horsepower. 300hp is pretty weak in this day and age so you'd probably have to get AWD to have more fun. That's why the G70 and Stinger are so compelling. 365hp for $40-45k is a good deal

Yeah by the time it's a midsize car, you've got a long wheelbase, front-biased weight distribution, and only power going to the front wheels... Not difficult to understand why that isn't as entertaining!

In my case I am looking at compact cars only.
The Golf R is a great car in the compact category. Have you test driven an Audi S5 Sportback? I think they are better than the Stinger...of course more pricey.

... Yeah probably too pricey for my budget this time. Maybe a bit too big as well.

Did the numbers turn out the way you were hoping? I've been reading on the Stinger forums to wait a couple of weeks for your buyout price to show up on Kia Motor Finance's website...
Congrats a great deal on a great car, picking it up at an awesome price doesn't hurt to start absorbing some of the anticipated depreciation.

Unfortunately, at this time, the balloon option is not available in Illinois (2 different finance managers told me this, so maybe it’s true). Went with 24/10k lease to take advantage of the $10500 lease cash on top of the dealer discount. $42590 became $26800. I’ll buy the car out as soon as my info shows up on Kia’s website. After TTL and other fees, I should be in under $32k. I’ll have to talk to the finance manager in the morning due to what I think is a discrepancy in tax due. I was under the impression I should only pay taxes on depreciated value (agreed upon price prior to rebate -RV)+ fees + rebate, but it appears the system is calculating them on the MSRP - RV. I guess I have some reading to do.
Long story short - it turned out to be the most expensive lunch I’ve ever had... went to test drive the new Sonata, and bought the Stinger at the next door dealer.
Sweeet garage contents. Do yourself a favor though and have someone do a pro epoxy/clearcoat on the floor. You'll thank me later.
Haha... When I built the house, I only had a couple day window to do the garage floor. It came down to professional epoxy for ~$3k or buy couple gallons of epoxy at big box and DIY. Obviously chose the latter. 6 years later it’s still mostly intact, but nowhere near pro level of finish (few chips here and there).
