I like black interiors personally, but I prefer a contrasting grey headliner to a true all black where the headliner is black too.

As for the Telluride and Palisade not holding their value well, who cares? its so much cheaper than a comparable SUV from another brand it makes up for it. I'd venture to say very few people are paying that sort of dealer markup.

As for the DC car show, its not important at all and gets no attention on the national or world stage whatsoever. We're going tomorrow, but interesting no Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche this year...

damning with faint praise.

While almost CUVs depreciate, its just makes no financial sense to overpay on the these. But hey, solid product nonetheless. I just wonder is the supply constraints on Kias end or the market ends or both

overpaying is subjective. ever bought a consumer product that was half the price a year later? regret it? me either.

one person's overpaying is another person's great score. it's subjective.

Totally true...

Personally, I'm not paying a $10k premium for a Palisade because that money gets me different vehicles. I'd pay MSRP for one if thats the best I could do.

Most of those who buy this type of vehicle don't so do primarily for their looks. They do so for practically, space, and traction.
They are mostly leased, so they could come back in 2-4 years. Of course, if they are truly impressive vehicles, some owners ill buy out the leases and keep them after.

There are so many SUV's on the market now, they have reached a point where they DO sell based on looks. Let's say one was in the marker for a new SUV. He/she has a dozen to choose from. They are nearly all capable offerings, so the only thing left is to base the decision on looks and/or reliability.

That is true for the most part. But past Santa Fe's, Soul's, and Tucson's sold well when they were first introduced. Same could be said for the Veloster and Genesis Coupe on their first year.

You don't buy your cars and then trade them in for something new. If you did, you might care.

No...not damning at all. I found it a very competent vehicle, with only minor complaints with the latest hardware inside, which, though decent, I did not think was quite up to previous Hyundai/Kia products. But if it were my own money, I'd have no qualms about buying one.

Its all relative though, if you spend more money on something else, it evens out in the end.
