Buick has dominated China's upscale market for years, and needs some REAL competition over there. Perhaps Lexus is finally providing some.

Could be the thing. The lower priced Lexus are right in the price points of a Buick, and I think Lexus makes better cars than Buick for the same $$$

Looking back now, I wish I would have picked the UX Hybrid instead of this NX 300 I currently have.

For what merits? I do find the UX more appealing. But of course, never owned either.

Because probably 80% of my driving time is spent in town. I live less than a half of a mile from work so it's a lot of back and forth during the week. I do go out of town some during warmer weather which is where my miles climb but it's not enough to offset that city driving. I've had this NX 2 months now and it just now turned over 300 miles and probably next week it's going to have to be filled up for the 3rd time. The UX maybe would still be on it's original fillup at this same mileage level. The difference between 93 octane for the NX and regular 87 for the UX would have been another savings point for me.

So a NX hybrid would not have worked? I like the design of the UX, but I just think it is quite pricey.

Hybrids aren't especially efficient on a half mile commute. The gasoline engine has to warm up before the hybrid system hits its stride, so you'd be running gas for the whole of your short commute. It might not be much of a difference in the real world.

NX Hybrid was out of my payment range.

I had a CT200h 6 years ago. It definitely made a difference. I could easily go 2 months between fillups.

With just a half mile commute? That surprises me. Ours doesn't warm up enough in the first half mile to go electric.

Yeah. But there is still other things I have to do during the week but everything generally everything is within say a 5 mile radius. Publix is maybe 3/4 of a mile away, Walmart is about a mile away. Sam's Club 2 miles away. Gym is 3 miles away.

Definitely. If I can get out of this NX, it will be UX from here on out for me as I figure the new NX hybrid on the new platform will be pretty pricey.

Half mile commute? That is a ten minute walk. Why bother with a vehicle over $2000. Or get a super powered scooter or e-bike.

You are luckier than most with commutes longer than 5 miles.
