FWIW, my now 4 generation old Yukon blasts air like nobody's business, the vents aren't thin but the a/c system in general is outstanding. That's another thing America gets right with their vehicles--air conditioning is the best in the world. Keep in mind that there will be a rear setup in these new trucks cooling that area, too.

I'm sure this new Escalade (and Tahoe, Yukon, etc) will have a more than adequate HVAC.

What? For the longest time american cars did not even have AC filters, blowing dust in passengers face. Not to mention broken ac compressors and leaking heater cores that are common only to american cars.

In my experience, American cars have had the best air conditioning. Think of how hot it gets in some parts of the country that domestic engineers take into account. Japan and Germany don't get hot like here.

German and Japanese cars were getting massive complaints from American buyers back in the day because the a/cs couldn't handle keeping up with the heat over here in the US.

They're better now, but I still think USA has the best A/C. My LS has really good A/C but my truck's is better.

The size of those vents won't limit the volume of air coming out. It's like a venturi. The air just has to move faster through the vent. May make them noisier, but as long as there's a good, strong HVAC system behind them, they'll be fine, not to mention these are clearly not the only vents in the vehicle.

The coldest A/C I ever had on any vehicle I owned was on my 2001 Lexus IS300 (Toyota Altezza). Blew like ice on humid 95-degree days. Older GM/Delco systems were also very good. Newer systems have smaller compressors that are more efficient, use less power, and put less drag on the engine, but may or may not be as good actually cooling things down inside.

Part of that, of course, on vehicles like the thread-topic Escalade we are discussing, is countered by the fact that large SUVs and minivans now usually have multiple heating and A/C for the front seat and second-row......sometimes even for the third row.

Maybe cheap japanese econoboxes with tiny engines had weaker AC systems, but al least they were reliable. I dont think I ever been to a Japanese or a German car with broken AC systems, but plenty of American cars had broken AC back in the 90ies and early 00s. Besides, according to a quick google search Yukon did not even have an AC filter until 2012, and its the same for many other American cars, which is why they always stunk like mold and dust in the interior.

Yes I agree. I remember late 80s and 90s American cars having the best cooling for some reason. Both of our SUVS are very good FWIW

We all know you hate American vehicles; duly noted. Give us a break.

I don't like older American cars that were utter junk. I do like the new Escalade, especially its elegant interior. Not everyone wants a redneck truck interior, especially at this price point.

Um, yeah, okay?

I don't think that's up for dispute although I do like the column shifter on the older ones.

You like it, more power to you. Certainly not as terrible as truck interiors 10-15 years ago, but the design looks ugly to me. The Escalade is priced to compete with likes of X7 and GL, thus it copies their classy interiors.

Yeah. Here's mine. It's old as dirt and obviously not spanking new like in this pic but I don't see anything redneck about it.
