Yeah, lol. As everyone knows I'm sure via my posts lol the only vehicle we are buying in the future is a '15 LX570 which definitely does have traditional gauges. And then a digital speedo in the middle, which I love. I've always wanted a redundant digital speedo in my car, never had one.

No, lol. That's just GM crap interior quality for ya, that time frame in their vehicles their clusters would go out. I could have it fixed for $150 I just don't get around to it, all I care about is the tach and it works.

Seriously can't wait. I hope to snag a silver or black one with black interior. Luckily, 90% of them were loaded out with the ML audio, leather upgrade, etc.

I really don't care about bad gas mileage. Gas is cheap and LX takes regular. And it has a sweet V8 that makes all the right sounds and will run 300k miles. I don't put a lot of mileage on my vehicles to begin with, neither of us do. My current truck averages 12.4MPG via trip computer and I don't care.

You'll likely never have a better time to buy one than in the next 6 months as the car market, along with all other markets, has collapsed.

The LX will achieve about the same MPG as your Yukon. Full-time 4WD SUVs with a big V8 don't usually get good mileage.

Haven't noticed the car market collapse as of yet.

Yeah, don't care. And LX has 100 more HP. I wouldn't call an LX "fast" but it's more than powerful enough for pretty much any situation. I've never seen anyone complain about the 5.7 not being enough.

I don't see how a tach on an automatic car could be more important than the speedometer lol

Well, if you red-line or overspeed an engine with an manually-shifted automatic or CVT, it will obviously do just as much damage to the engine as with a traditional three-pedal manual....rev-limits are rev-limits, no matter what kind of transmission you have. That's why, years ago, before many vehicles had standard tachs, you would have warnings and limitations in the Owners' Manual about not exceeding certain speeds in certain transmission-gears. And, of course that was only a general guideline, since the same vehicle could also have different final-drive ratios in the differentials which would also affect engine RPMs.

A modern car will not let you red-line or overspeed, even in a manual shifting mode.

Knowing how fast you are going is way more important, and in fact a car without a working speedometer is not road legal.

Yeah, in fact if you're in manual mode using the paddles or shifter and you don't execute a shift within short amount of time the transmission goes back into auto mode.

It's surprisingly easy to gauge (haha) your speed around town. Very easy.

If this was a vehicle that I used for trips or drove on the interstates regularly I would fix it, it's harder to tell there at higher speeds. Speedometer apps in phones are nice though if I ever do have to hit the interstate.

I like the tach being there more because the engine sounds good, I like knowing where it shifts, etc.

In any case it is an easy $150 fix, I just haven't gotten around to it.

Another reason I don't fix it is because mine has everything redundant on the digital display below the odometer. If it starts to get hot, or oil issues, or whatever, it would tell me. Nothing on those gauges I'm missing that the display wouldn't tell me before it even got bad. GM has always been good with the warning systems IMO, very thorough. It'll tell you to start the vehicle if you're running the radio etc, and it starts to get low.

Am I missing something? The ESV has been available to "see" in the visualizer on Cadillac's website since the standard length Escalade was revealed. I remember comments going around back then about not being able to see the ESV, but again, the ESV was shown in the visualizer during this time too.
