Sales of S and X appear to be tiny so a quick tweet from Elon is intended to 'help'. I don't think it will though. These are not inexpensive cars and I expect most of the early adopters already bought one.

I like everything about the Model S including the interior and exterior. I like it way more than the Model 3 but given the price difference between the two there is no way I would buy the Model S over the 3. The Model 3 does almost everything just as good to me for a lot less. This is why I believe the S doesn’t sell well although even without the 3, given it’s price point it still wouldn’t sell in high numbers.

The way I understand it is existing owners will also get a range improvement how much depends on production date. Model X and S have about 15% better range compared to a year ago not bad.

right but musk said that's due to all sorts of small hardware tweaks on the vehicles, so owners of older ones won't benefit much if any.

Hardware and software tweaks. Existing owners will benefit how much depends on the production date. Either way a 15% efficiency gain in one year is amazing.

If Tesla is smart, they will update Model X sooner than later. SUVs are all the rage right now, and all they got to do is give the Model X an interior that's on part with BMW and MB, and they will attract tons of buyers.

Model S is nearly a decade old, and sedans are pretty much dead anyway, a range bump won't do anything.

Sedans dead? With Tesla, not even close. They can't build enough Model 3s to met the present demand. Just imagine the demand for Model 3s if they got the same range-bump.

That's because they do not offer an SUV besides the expensive and aging Model X. There are a ton of people out there that only want an SUV, even if it's a Tesla.

I expect when the Model Y is released, model 3 sales will sink quite a bit and model Y will be the new tesla star player.

I am sure Tesla model 3 sales will tank if they get a comparable crossever out to market.

You ought to see the way the Model 3 has sold in this area.....even without a vast network of recharging stations like they have in California. It is clearly becoming a cult vehicle.... but with a lot of cult-members.

Tesla cars sell very well in Toronto. They would sell even better with a small crossover

We ordered the new X6 for my wife a few weeks ago, and the Model X was the only other vehicle we considered as alternative. If only it had a better interior, it would be a no contest.
