Speaking of bad engines, the new 2.5L DF engines arent doing so hot reliability wise. First improper piston sizes and now the engine block has issues so yea even Toyota and Lexus is fallible.

As someone stated above I think I have seen maybe two UX's. In the US last year Lexus sold 16,723. It out sold the IS, LS, LX, RC, GS and LC.

I've seen a few. It takes a while before they are saturated enough on the roads to where you see them all over the place.

I was talking sales wise. Has it been like a 60/40 split with hybrids selling more, that kind of thing.

I see several UXs every single day. Maybe they're more popular on the west coast. It's not uncommon for me to see 5-10 on any given day.

I've had two CT200h's before and I didn't have any problems driving the highways with bigger vehicles. I imagine the UX would be a little more stable than the CT was.

The UX wasnt supposed to do anything in Lexus's biggest markets where CUVs are all the craze?

I always thought I read that the UX was designed for Europe and China. It just so happens the US and Canadian markets like it. Maybe I am wrong

it is supposed to be doing what it is doing... just because you do not like it, or do not see it, does not mean it does not sell.

It definitely became a one of the top selling Lexus vehicles worldwide, #2 in Europe and in Japan I believe.

For sure, but the thought of folks like Jill mentioning "I don’t think the UX was supposed to do anything in the US or Canada." is exactly what confuses me.

Why would Lexus not design and cater vehicles to its largest markets that cant get enough of CUVs? That would be like saying Lexus hates making money lol?

Smaller vehicles like the UX traditionally does better in Europe and Japan with their narrow streets. That success may not always translate to other countries like the US, which we are referring to. By your standards the international Yaris is a success, but here in the US, it is a failure and thats why we got an ugly Mazda 2.

Thanks for the info.
The next 2-3 years will be a new wave for Lexus SUVs craze.

Yeah, I see UXs everyday, but not as much as RX and NX though.

Someone else asked this but where does the LF-1 stand?
Lexus called it the Luxury Flagship crossover:
