I don't understand the text at 0:15.

Lexus LS600hL. The L110F hybrid transmission is described as being "the world's first all-wheel-drive electronically controlled continuously variable transmission."
Wasn't the LS600hL only available in RWD?

Edit: I just looked it up and it was AWD. Huh. I really had no idea (or I completely forgot).

LS600hL was only AWD. it was/is hellaciously complicated, and unfortunately, all that complexity and weight meant it was only similar speed and economy to the regular LS460L. but the LS600hL is truly an amazing feat of engineering.

not exactly, LS600hL highway acceleration significantly better than LS460L(50 to 70 mph for example), actually beats contemporary V12/W12 rivals when it first came out, except the twin-turbo V12 S-class...https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...ake-road-test/ , I agree it’s not worth the upgrade from the LS460L though given the price difference.

funny. i know exactly where he is. been there several times and ive actually driven that car they tore apart. they have had that car for years. its been dissected and rebuilt so many times. surprised they still have it!
