i think it looks weak and kinda of juvenile, not befitting Lexus.

I appreciated it. Everything is too serious lately.

I don't like Akio in it. If you're going to recreate that iconic commercial, I would have the wine glasses already be there, punch it to 140mph, and fade out with "We still got it" or something along those lines

Clearly it was meant to be light hearted and quirky, and show a humorous side of the CEO and the brand. Whether or not that was appropriate is debatable. I wonder if the glasses and the actual experiment was actually done. I hope Lexus comes out with a behind the scenes, which is what they did for a few commercials in the past.

appropriate for scion or toyota maybe, but not lexus.

and if it's meant to be youthful, put someone young in it (toyoda is 63).

Particularly when they pan out to show the tower of champagne glasses, and there's no one behind the wheel. At least make it look like it's legit. Weak.

That would be the worst "Behind the Scenes" ever.

"Uh, well we really didn't run the car with the glasses on the hood. We just stacked them there, and had a close-up shot of a driver without showing the champagne glasses. It was fake" /End scene/

Faux and pathetic, much like the whole Lexus brand has become.

I know. The original video from 1989 does not show the glasses and the dyno in the same shot. It was all staged. Great marketing
