The reason I mentioned LS400 is I know it's kinda legendary for Lexus and does suit my needs
If price is not a big deal, then I would suggest skipping all the way to the 2013 LS460, then work your way up newer, until you find the sweet spot. Used is a great way to get the options you would have never been willing to pay for new....

With the LS430, mileage is not significant if it's a 200k car all day long and probably a 300k car. Those who own the 460 will have to say if that holds true as well. If so, 35k, 55k 75k, it really doesn't matter. the odds are slim of taking it to 300k, how many miles can a person even drive? Today nearly 0 per month.

I feel this a kid yanking everyone's chain he is looking for a car but has no idea if he/she wants a 4 door, truck, coupe, on top of that there is no budget or limit and they keep fan boying about the ls400.

Also if money is not a big deal they would not be bouncing from a $1000 ls400 to a $40,000 LS460.

No kid here, senior citizen, never mentioned anything about a truck, mentioned a LS400 2x, maybe? Been quite clear about what I wanted from beginning. Didn't say money is no object, did say wanted to buy outright so that in itself could rule out 40k for a 460.
I've been here all along since I posted and was responsive, appreciative and thankful to all.
Why do you come here and start your sourballs comments, everyone has contributed positively.
thanks
oh and read the thread headline "good solid lexus cruiser"

You literally said above you are not worried about the price someone quoted you saying it lol you consider toyota there cheaper than lexus but almost the same thing. You should aim for the gs or is models right up your alley, if you want to stay with lexus.

I never said price is no object, you can't attribute that me and as I've been learning from everyone's positive comments you will notice that I have been zeroing in on the GS.
Never said Toyota was cheaper, I even asked if there were comparative Toyota models to think about.
Why you feel the need for nasty comments is just your life, live with yourself.

a 2JZ GS300 is at least 15 years old... but sure, if that's someone's thing.

If you want an ultra-rare Lexus, GS460 is exclusive and you won't see that model very often in your neighborhood.

that's what I have. I didnt recommend it because of the actuator issue. I havent had it, knock on wood. But for someone looking for a bulletproof car I would avoid this. The starter is something that goes as well and is really hard to replace. Again knock on wood since i havent had the issue.
