Looks like Jill may have been right, then, about the LS morphing into a crossover.
If they keep the LX, this new LQ thing will most likely replace the LS.
I don't see Toyota spending all the money for a whole new LS after this one that's been a total disaster.

They're not going to replace the LS with this. There will continue to be an LS.

As Jill has pointed out, the US is not the only market for the LS.

LS
-MY21 was suppose to be the year that Lexus showcases their fully developed Level 2 autonomous platform debut at the Summer olympics
-MY21 LS was just leaked online with a new RC-F inspired face, which I also assume the interior would be revised as well
-LS rides on a modular rear wheel drive platform. Development Costs are well distributed
LQ
Just rumors of what it could be.
So far it seems the LS has more longevity as their Flagship more then the LQ

I have heard that phrase way too often (mostly dealers sales folks), that Lexus would cut an underperforming vehicle....so far besides the recently departed GS, dont know of any Lexus model that really goes away when sales hit the floor. Lexus actually has skewed to absorbing their losses regardless of market demand.

They do sell elsewhere in the world though, and it doesn’t cost them much to sell a car here if it’s selling well elsewhere in the world.

It would be extremely hard to justify a new LS in the sedan style. . But turning the LS into a UX style hatch would be a huge hit. Most of the younger generation will view crossovers and suvs as the true flagships of a brand. Lexus already claims the LC. LX and LS are their flagships.

I don't see flagship buyers in the $80k+ bracket embracing a "UX style hatch" lol

So, the UX (only in my opinion) is like a crossover between a car and a crossover. Does that make sense? If you park next to one, its like a tall hatch back, but not a crossover like a Rav4...That is where I see this LQ going..

Unless thats what the concept looks like its not going to be what the LQ is going for.
From looking at the concept and reading what people at Lexus have been saying about it, my guess is its going to be something along the lines of the Audi Q8. Sort of a "crossover-car" but not really like the UX.
If you haven't driven a Q8 by the way you should, they ride great...Audi is making some really great riding vehicles right now, best in the industry IMHO.
