I find it interesting regarding the discussion about 2 row/3 row crossovers in this class. In my neighborhood we have a GX, LX, Land Cruiser, 2 GLE's, a Velar, X7, X5, etc. In looking at the families who own the vehicles, none of them have more than 2 kids, with most actually having no or adult children. I really don't think the absence of a 3rd row in this price class would be that detrimental. If it has the looks, comfort, luxury, etc., of what someone looking in this pricepoint is after, it will sell.

Lexus clearly wants the LQ to be a fullsize competitor, and if it can't offer a 3rd row like the rest of the competition, it'll get creamed again just like the LS500 with its lack of interior space. Heck, it'll get creamed by its own RX.

As we've established Jill, you are anti third row lol.
I don't believe this vehicle is supposed to be a three row, at least the concept is not. I don't have an issue with it being two row as for me this vehicle wouldn't be used for that purpose, this would be a sedan replacement. Same thing as a Range Rover, or a Q8.
Doesn't negate the fact that Lexus needs a good 3 row crossover, this just isn't meant to be it.

It would be perfect for Lexus. They could also have a larger 3 row crossover, the brand could definitely support it. I don’t the RX-L was intended for the X7.

A BOF vehicle like that isn't what Lexus needs, they have the BOF LX already.
The RX-L was meant to compete with 3 row crossovers, the X7 didn't exist and is more expensive but its competitors are the MDX, QX60, XC90, Cadillac's XT6...and it competes very poorly.

Lexus needs a bigger LX. And yeah, RX-L does not compete very well. Problem IMO is that the RX should be 2 row, and there should be a larger model just dedicated to being a 3 row crossover. I am sure that is coming.
