Well if it is gunning for a Lambo, it will need more performance than even what the V8TT can offer. It seems like Lambo can turn out more powerful engines overnight. I seriously doubt Lexus will be that ambitious, perhaps gunning for the top spot in the mainstream luxury nameplates is more realistic.

Maycan? You mean the Macan? And the Porsche you’re talking about is the Cayenne.

Supposedly the next gen LX is going to get bigger. No need for the LQ to get a 3rd row. Hopefully it would be a performance SUV in the same guise as the X5/X6 M, GLE 63, Cayanne Turbo, and some of the more expensive players in the group like the Bentayga and the Urus. There are a bunch of ppl would gladly give up their AMG and M car if Lexus made a comparable performance car. If you could get the same power, tech, handling with the Lexus reliability who says no?

Who's to say consumers don't agree with Jill about the styling? I am most certainly a flagship luxury car consumer, and I agree with Jill. The LS500 is beautiful. I think its better looking than anything in the segment except the S Class with the AMG appearance package.
You act like styling is the only reason people buy cars. Despite loving the looks of the LS500, the interior space and driving characteristics don't work for me, so I wouldn't buy one. Just because I don't buy one doesn't mean I don't like the styling.
I don't think the LS500's problem is its styling.
And a LOT of buyers are switching their purchases over to SUVs, not necessarily other flagship sedans. One of these times eventually I'll probably be one of them.

This is why I stated both "styling & functionality"; not just styling alone.
Functionality includes: space, ergonomics, performance, economy, braking, maneuvrebility, handling, ride, NVH, equipment, costs, durability and environmental friendliness.
Post purchase surveys will certainly be able to pin point the strengths and weaknesses, as well as determining quantitatively the extent of the strenghts and weaknesses.
And because post purchase surveys are conducted by third parties, the third parties can also give the manufacturers feedback on how Lexus models compare with their peers.
It's unfortunate that real consumers don't agree with you & aren't warming to 5LS styling & functionality as much as you do, since all new 5LS sales down to just 300 units/month USA before virus hit.
Instead, consumers are switching their purchases over to the ageing S Class to be replaced in 2 months, and the ageing 7 Series to be replaced in 2 years.

You really don't have to be rude.
And you have access to these surveys?

I'm sorry if you found that rude Steve.
None of us have have access to third party survey feedback data which spells out all the details, but we do have public access to sales figures which give us an "overall" feel of the consumer's response to a particular model relative to its peers.
I can only hope that Lexus gets LQ's overall form & function package right for successful sales relative to its peers.
