It's likely the next Z will start in the $40K range. Why $40k? The engine is borrowed from the Infiniti Q50/60 Red Sport 400 and the chassis may be a retuned/revised/updated version of the 370Z chassis if they choose to forego a new chassis. Cost savings right there. That's $10K less than the Supra and on top of it most likely will come with a 6 speed manual, something you cannot have in the Supra.
I highly doubt that, hardly any new car starts at 40K even a base Camry starts at nearly 36K. A performance coupe like a Z will start in the low 50's.
A base Camry starts at $24,425, base Accord is about the same price, even a Toyota Avalon starts at 35K.
In May of 2019, the average price of a new car purchased in the U.S. climbed to $36,718, with interest rates hovering around 6%, according to automotive information site Edmunds. That's up from $35,742 in 2018, which was already a 2% increase from 2017, according to Kelley Blue Book.

Driving vintage Nissan sports cars in the virtual world inevitably had us talking about the brand’s performance heritage. While getting old, the 370Z and GT-R continue to fill an important niche for performance enthusiasts, to the point that they’ve become automotive icons. We needed to ask, when is the next Z coming out?To nobody’s surprise, both engineers remained tight-lipped about what’s coming in the Z portfolio, but they did mention the 400Z, which appears to be the name of Nissan’s next-generation sports car.
Rumour has it the next Z will initially come out with 2 tunes based on the 3L twin turbo V6: 300 hp and 400 hp.
That looks a little better then some of the concepts/renditions I have seen, they need to make it a little longer and more sleek, that chunky compressed look does not look good on sports cars/370Z.
