They are definitely NOT cars and most don’t consider them true ///M vehicles anyway.
Its a way for BMW to make huge profit.

As much as I’m impressed with performance of my X3 M40i - there is no engineering that can take a heavy, tall vehicle, shaped like a brick and make it drive like a sport sedan, let alone a sports car.

Oh I agree, they are most def not sport cars, but more like ultra luxury SUVs with a lot of power.

Impressive semantics battle

All that remains to be seen is a post saying

BMW does not make SUVs nor Crossovers only SAVS
SUVs are not Crossovers as they dont have permanent locking 4wd

I think there are a lot of differences in SUVs/CUVs etc.
Its like saying RX and LX are both “SUVs” - they couldn’t be more different.

BMW purists love to complain about M SUVs and loss of manuals, but I love the way they drive. They are awesome for a long road trip, and can really haul *** when need be.

Questions, are X models only made in USA, and if someone in Europe wants an X model it needs to be shipped from USA?

Correct - SC plant builds X SUVs for entire world. More than half of the production is for outside of the US.
If you ever do PCD and take factory tour - its really cool to see the process and how they put together all different specs for different countries.

Porsche Macan seems to due a pretty good job of it. More like driving a hot hatch. Extra width and lighter weight helps. It's much more like a sports car, but it's not brick shaped like BMW's SUV's are.
