I've never owned a hybrid, but have driven many for work. The most impressive hybrid I've driven was the GS450h...a kick in the pants! I was hoping Toyota would have developed an electric vehicle by now and I could replace at least one of my gas Toyota/Lexus vehicles with it. l wouldn't trust any other manufacturer's product in the hybrid or electric realm.
What I like about Toyota/Lexus is their business model/strategy for not racing new models to market at the expense of reliability. They are late with an electric offering, but one can bet it will be reliable when it finally arrives. The model will likely benefit from all the years of incrementally improving the current hybrid line-up, especially the plug-ins.

They are not for everyone, but we’ve been very happy with the two we’ve had.

Hybrids were great 10-15 years ago now to me they are old news time to move on. At the very least Toyota should have graduated to plug in hybrids.

My parents had original RX400h back in the day. It leased better than RX330 so my dad got it. It actually had some reliability issues. Nothing too memorable about it.

It doesn't make sense at all that the Corolla hatchback gets the Hybrid 180 hp engine, while the Lexus CT200h, which is more expensive, still has the same 122 hp 1.8 engine of the Prius.
Toyota treats Lexus like trash!

I'd like to drive the best newest hybrids at some point to see how far they've improved in terms of seamlessness of the gas/electric transition. Ones i've driven in the past (about a 2011 RX450h, a Prius and Prius V - the big one) were pretty horrible to drive.
With gas so cheap, it's a good thing the hybrid price premium has dropped in recent years, but the economic case for hybrids is still very weak.
