If anything, I think crossovers with seats that fold into the floor making a flat load floor have more utility than a minivan where you can't get rid of those second row seats. At least you can stow long stuff flat.

Our Sedona was like that, seats didn't fold or collapse or anything like that (lounge seats)

My daily driver is a '16 Sienna. If the second row seats in the '21 version can't be removed, Toyota just lost me as a future Sienna customer. Don't much care for the idea of an underpowered 4 cylinder hybrid either.

The definitely can't be removed. I have checked it with several different sites now. Issue is they have side airbags built into them and thats why they can't be removed.

It's a bummer Toyota couldn't engineer a better method for the side airbags. Obviously they are extremely important, but not being able to remove or fold flat the 2nd row kills the utility of a minivan for a lot of people. I guess time will tell with sales #'s.

Killing the V6 option on all of their vehicles? I think just the Sienna, right? Have they dropped a V6 option from anything else? I'm blanking.

I think this is a symptom of the future. You will see more and more hybrid 4cyl only vehicles. Toyota seems to believe that a hybrid 4 cyl is just as good as a V6, like a TTV6 is just as good as a V8, and a hybrid V8 is just as good as a V12. None of which are actually true lol

Yeah, I agree with that. Many manufacturers are downsizing engines while adding turbos, and Toyota seems to be using the hybrid system in lieu of turbos. More to come, for sure, but I think Sienna is the first for Toyota in terms of dropping the standard V6 and going with a standard hybrid drivetrain and no V6 option. I am very interested to see some reviews and even drive one, to see if this powertrain is sufficient for a people hauler like the Sienna. I really wish Toyota published torque values on the hybrids.

booo on hybrid only for vans.

had a limited awd sienna since 06. we donated our 06 in 2017 to kars4kids b/c it was going downhill. so our current is a 17 awd limited premium. i'll keep our v6 now. those arm rests won't fly with my wife, she always wants them up and i always want them down. also i like the front pass through in case we need to switch spots my wife doesn't like to walk around. she can squeeze her legs between the console and the controls. it's her daily.

also, is it me or does the rear look like a honda odessy?

that birds eye view, perimeter scan vacuum and fridge sounds cool tho...that fridge would have been cool when the kids were young and we needed to keep bottles cool.

Had the 09 Venza and it looks roomier than the new one, from its more boxy design, but just a guess based on the very limited pics. I would not be surprised considering all models on the TNGA-K platform have shrunk in interior space versus their prior gen models.
That aside, huge improvement in fit/finish and interior material quality.

Rear reminds me of the E-Pace.

Really liking the new Venza and considering it if a new RX doesn't come soon! Here's one with the Artisan Spirits aero kit!

Don’t forget they are also introducing a more powerful plug in hyrbid version with 302 hp which is going to outperform the V6. Most likely they will bring that option to Venza and should do well if you want more power and performance. For most people the 4 cyl hybrid should be just fine.
