Toyota Avalon?
Toyota Camry?
Toyota Carolla?
Toyota Matrix?
Toyota Prius?
Toyota MR2? (OK a little excitement there)
Toyota Celica?
Nissan has a great looking new Maxima with great HP. Honda has more horsepower and excitement in their latest Accord. Mazda has a new 6 that looks sweet. These competing brands as well as others (non-luxury brands) also have other vehicle models that make your head turn (Mazda RX8, Honda S2000).
The new Camry Solara seems nice (looks like the prevous generation SCs), however overall, there is no excitement or passion / desire in Toyota's car line up as compared to the competition. Toyota isn't active in these HP wars, so the engines in these cars are only pushing 225 HP now? It seems Toyota's focus is more in the family car segment, which they are very good at. Practicality / Reliability over desire seems to be the motto for Toyota's at this time.
You can't just slap a spoiler and different rims on a Camry that still only pushing 210 HP (now 225HP - this year finally for the SE). It's still a Camry with just adequate power.
On the other hand, Toyota is doing a great job with their truck line - Beautiful Trucks!
Anyone else agree with me on these issues?

Even tho it seems like Toyota has some boring cars, I still would prefer Toyota over Nissan or Honda. S2000 and 350Z are nice cars but somehow I still feel that Toyota attracts me more than those. MR-S is nice as with TopSecret turbo kit ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yah Supra needs to be back. Even if they just start producing JZA80 MKIV Supra TTs again like they did back in 97, it would still be the king of the freeway

I think Toyota has a current line-up that matches well with the current economy. Lets face it folks, most people struggle to pay bills and cannot afford luxury vehicles......some of these smaller vehicles are meant to fit within those types of budgets....and I personally like the Matrix, i think its pretty exciting!

If Toyota wants a younger crowd of buyers, you have to dangle a 350Z in front of them. The Matrix / Celica / MR2 are practical for college students on a budget, but they'd take a 350Z anyday!

If there was...
... I'd take a brand new Supra over a 350Z anyday! I've always rated Toyota's as my favourite Japanese car brand (obviously including Lexus in there as well), then Honda then Nissan (just my preferences).

As much as us car enthusiasts complain, the simple fact is, that Toyota is on pace to be the top selling car manufacturer in the US this year, not including Trucks/SUV's, OR Lexus.
That's quite an accomplishment for such boring cars.
But, right now, given the choice between a Camry, Accord and Maxima (or even the Mazda 6) the Camry would be low on my list. But I'm an enthusiast

I sat inside of a new Solara SLE V6 at a Toyota dealer last week while helping a friend shop for a car. Except for the fake wood, the interior was nearly Lexus quality, and it had a tiptronic style auto on the gateshifter (similar to the 04 LS430). That looks like a nice feature. Of course, the Solara is not the same type of car as the Z--it's designed to be a comfortable cruiser with a bit of sporty flair, not a car you'd want to track.
