The US economy was very strong the past few years and could have sold a ton of those redesigned models. Now that the pandemic has hit will Toyota delay rolling out updated models? Hope not, it’s been way too long already.
IDK about the Tundra and Sequoia...even if they were newer, it will still be a tough sell against Ram/Ford/GM, since the crowds that buy them are pretty damn loyal. Yeah, they will conquest buyers here and there, but I think the hardcore truck guys won't buy anything except 'Murican.

But totally agree, a new GX and LX that are updated with current technology would sell even better than they do now (and make more Lexus dealers happier), but luckily for them, sales are all right when they're both dated given that consumers are buying anything utility at this point.

Canada except Alberta!

hell no. but you're probably right.

I would not include Canada in with North America as Canada has fully adopted and supported hybrid Toyota's and Lexus. Canada just introduced a carbon tax that will push most vehicle consumers to hybrid technology or smaller motors.
the beatings will continue until morale improves. 'Push' being the right word, consumers will have little choice.

20-30 years from now, Toyota and Lexus will be looked back upon as a pioneer of hybrid, BEV, and at that point an FCEV maker.
BEV? When they don't have ANY today?

The V8 stuff will be a distant memory as well as all the boring sedans in the past. It's tough for people here to understand and for some reason so many people are stuck in the past...
I agree many (most) are stuck in the past.

True, today we are "global", because transport and communication is so advanced.

TMC is actually waiting for Lion prices to fall before they introduce to the US.

The Toyota has a nicer interior and the Lexus has a nice exterior.

Somebody who owns a Century would beg to differ

But yes, in the USDM, no Toyota should even come within spitting distance to a Lexus. Of course, thats the problem with Lexus going downmarket so much, that it happens quite often now.

You'll probably have twice as much by the time, if ever, we get one...

What happened to the rumored high end crossover vehicle? IMO, Lexus needs more high end models. In particular one that would sell well like a high end crossover.
