Does anyone think it's going to get the same grief the RCF got for its weight from journalists? Is it a fair comparison or am I wrong?
The only journalist to criticize the grill is also the only one that has ***** to say anything which is Chris Harris.
Everyone else has been positive or neutral.
the 6 series is still 5" longer than a 4 series though.
cars got bigger so they could expand the range too. 'back in the day' the 3 series was the smallest bmw. with the 1 and 2 series now, the 3 (and now 4 too) had to get bigger.
then there's the fact that PEOPLE seem to be getting bigger.
New 4series coupe is 187.9 in vs 191 in for the 8series coupe.
3in difference only, no reason why 4 series coupe needs to be this big.
My thinking is BMW wants to save $$$ and not stretch the wheelbase for the 4series GranCoupe variant therefore the normal coupe grows more than it has to.....
Not sure I would say "much better" but I certainly find myself being much less harsh on the spindle grill after this monstrosity.
I was more referring to the just the matte plastic...The other BMW had some gloss or other color on the front end...as per Lexus, I find them hit and miss, but when the do a full redesign, the front end seem better.

Throttle House didn't hold back on how ugly it is.
Is it really that expensive/hard to make one giant ugly grill just for the Chinese market and do something different/much more subtle for other markets to spare the rest of the world these monstrosities?
