$70k for a TLX is more expensive than a loaded M340. I'd be surprised if it was that expensive given it's middling horsepower numbers.
To be fair, it is substantially larger on the outside than a 3 Series. Since Acura said something about benchmarking the Audi A7, maybe the price makes more sense in comparison to a BMW 4GC or Audi A5 Sportback. It all depends on how successfully they can market this vehicle to be seen as a 4-door-coupe competitor.

If they do market in that class, it has to compete on that level of refinement and interior appointments...all reviews point it to being more of a 3 series competitor. To be fair, if its marketed as a performance car, its only middle of the road in its segment and nowhere near the top. Given all that, I expect it to top out around $60k fully loaded. I'd be shocked if it was $70k.
Oh boy, can't wait to see what other packages are going to bring this up near the $70K pricetag.
You can't be serious. Acura isn't that stupid to price a car the same as a C43 AMG. Especially if the car does 0-60 above 4.6 seconds which I'm thinking it will.

Yeah...only Lexus prices a car in the $70k range with a 0-60 in ~4.5s
CT5 is seen as a 3-Series competitor too despite being a substantially larger tweener like the TLX. I strongly believe that the Type S reception will be very similar to that of the CT5-V. Neither have the performance of a 3-Series or the luxury appointments of a 5-Series, but they're an acceptable middle ground for the same price as an equivalently equipped 3-Series.
70K is loaded M340i money and even then, it's alot. Mine was a hair over 60. This Acura shouldn't exceed 55k, it's an inferior product and Acura simply lacks the cachet to sell at that price. Still don't see the Acura appeal when the Stinger is better in all categories.

The base price of a Type S isn't that far off a C43 AMG ($58K). And that's still missing a mountain of features from the Advance Package. Assuming Acura lets you add on all the features of the Advance Package onto the Type S, I am certain it will cross the $60K threshold. Some fancy wheels and body kits will bring that up to $65-70K easily.
Who would pay for it? I'm not sure, but the Civic Type R flies out the dealerships at $40K.

I don't think the top package is going to be above 60K, rumors are Type S is around 54K, highest optioned around high 50's. No way are they going to slap a 70K price on a loaded one, I don't even think the RLX hybrid got to 70K.

There's no point with Motorola, who is somehow convinced that Acura will stretch the Type S to somehow hit this $70K number he's had in his head for quite some time now.

Yes, remember when a handful of people were arguing with me that the price would for a loaded Type S would top at $50K?
I don't think it'll hit $70K, but fully loaded, assuming Acura lets you load all the options on the Type S, I would expect this to be between $65-70K.

Lol, nobody in their right mind would pay 60/70k for a FWD Acura sedan with faux tech SH-AWD which is junk compared to the competition's AWD. Those will sit on lots and then they're forced to sell at 20k discount. Acura would be dumb to price it that high.
