Having driven the Camry with that engine, I’m not optimistic.

Does the camry V6 and avalon feel as refined as an ES in NVH?

According to Savagegeese, the ES V6 was tuned to have a smoother throttle response and more power delivery:

Toyota will probably do a bit of work on the 4-cylinder compared to the Camry and Avalon.

There’s only so much you can do, it’s a naturally aspirated 4 cyl with 203 HP, it’s just never going to feel quick and smooth.

TBD at this point. Better programming, extra NVH, balancing the i4, motor mounts etc can all be used to play with the sound profile. If it cant match the base v6 in quick and smooth, I assume the market will correct the pricing.

Most Camry AWD grades have 202 horsepower, while the Camry XSE AWD and both Avalon AWD grades have 205 hp with dual exhaust.
