I drive an LS430 that doesn't beg you to gun it and a truck that only has good pickup at around town speeds; on the highway it's nothing to brag about lol.

That said, on the interstate I look down and don't realize how fast I'm going in the 430.
The V8s are velvety smooth so you just don't know the speed. Also, the LS isn't a stop light burner but on a roll, that V8 has some grunt On a luxury exec sedan, the V8s seem much more appropriate than a turbo 6. On a sports sedan, i think I prefer the forced induction. It will be interesting to see how the Mercedes hybrid system is received once they ditch their V8s.

I just like having a smooth (V8) engine that never has to work hard. For the most part, that's what turbos do, too, but there is lag. And then the god-awful sound of 4 cylinders at work.

RE: Mercedes ditching V8s, I didn't know that and didn't want to lol. Ugh.

Give me the sound of the naturally aspirated free revving V8 without the sound of the fake pops and crackles.

as good as that 850 sounds i'd agree the LC is still the winner, even though it seems to have even more pops and crackles lol

i'd love to know what his recording set up is because that's some hq audio

I was referring to LC500 in my post. M850i makes only 523hp and M8 Comp makes 617hp. S560 makes over 500 lb/ft of torque and there is S63 version.

But the RCF and GSF are clearly underpowered against M3/4, C63 - M5, E63.
Even if you compare GSF to M550i which also has 523hp.

To some ppl like you, power #s are not important and hence you bought the Lexus variants. I agree with you and would get LC500 over M850i. But for general public they don’t care about this - how else can you explain the 8 series selling so well over the LC especially when its more expensive. Same for RC and GS.

Now if Lexus came out with LCF making 700hp and just beating the competition - it would get bragging rights and create buzz that would make ppl also respect the lower models. Its the Halo effect which they are missing.

Well I welcome you to drive them back to back. M3 motor makes way more power, revs higher and is way more engaging. I’m only comparing the engines themselves - the 911 handling is on another level as it should be.

Have you driven any S55 powered car - its the closest feeling to NA due to its ability for high revs and also advantage of turbo. Paired with DCT, its a treat to experience - just don’t turn off traction control.

I never said im getting GT4 but since you offered to help me get one - im waiting for a referral to your sales guy.....

I can’t keep up with your ever changing reasoning why whatever you like is better. If I say sun you say moon. It was whatever is more powerful so you can call a car underpowered. Sometimes you say the car you like is faster so it can be better than the slower car. Now if it has more power, revs, higher, and is more engaging, it is better than being faster depending on the car you prefer or don’t own.

But you already have connections to “top salespeople” through your brother? I’ll let them help you out. Don’t forget to add the ceramic composite brakes and sport chrono package!
