Lexus Minivan Render Based on Sienna Looks Fantastic
By Brett Foote

Lexus' LM has become quite popular in Asia, so why not build a van for the U.S., too?

That is one unholy marriage if I've ever seen one.

Lexus Minivan is great idea - i think it would do very well especially if it had AWD.

It's actually not bad. I suspect it would be very expensive though, all tricked out on the inside.

i just don't understand america

the minivan has so much more utility than an SUV, which 99.98% of people do not take offroad.

more cargo space, lower load height, slippery-er drag. Easier to get in and out, esp with sliding doors in tight parking spots.
I think it would be cool if they could making a sliding front door that slides forward instead of swinging open.

Totally agree. After all, this is also the land where people turned their back on sedans.

It's an image-thing. People in the U.S. have allowed themselves to be indoctrinated with the idea, which basically started in the auto-press, that minivans aren't "cool"...and that their friends will laugh if they see one in the driveway.

just a matter of time before the CUV becomes uncool.

I mean the RAV4 and all these suv mom-mobiles are pretty much uncool.

the alphard-based LM is pretty different... narrow and tall (and hideous ). the 'fantasy rendering' in OP is just a sienna with lexus styling and completely impractical stance. lol oh and never happening either.

Minivans, the few that I have driven (Sienna and Caravan), just arent very well made. They feel flimsy, creaky, groany, shuddery and just overall unrefined. SUVs and Crossovers just feels that sturdier and better made.

I would guess the SUVs and crossovers you're comparing to were designed less than 15 years ago. The current Caravan was introduced in 2008, and the Sienna in 2010, so both were designed in the mid-2000s. That's a LONG time ago. Most SUVs would have gone through 2 or 3 generations in the same period that these have stayed stagnant.

If you were to drive something designed in the past decade, it might feel a little better.
