I think it hits too close to the BMW 330 and most people go for brand. There are enthusiasts that will go for the 3.3T but enthusiasts are a small minority vs. those who want to lease a "BMW". Also, its not like the 3.3T is unique...it competes with the Q50RS, Kia Stinger, and Model 3 Performance at the same price range and if you go a little higher, you can get an excellent German car in the M340, S4, and C43 AMG.

A 3 series is a cut about a Genesis G70. The BMW is a better car. It’s admirable what Hyundai was able to achieve but a G70 is based on just value

Have you driven a G70? Or looked at one? Or even sat in one? I have. Its workmanship/materials and quality of construction is first-rate.

I've never driven a G70, so I can't confirm that. But certainly I would test drive it before purchasing. But I'm not sure what "a better car" even means. I've sat in a G70 at the car show, and I had a BMW 330 (G20) loaner when my 328 was in for service. I would not agree that the 330 is definitively nicer inside than a G70. The G20 330 is definitely nicer than my F30 328; but I would say, hands down, a top level Genesis G70 interior beats the interior of my 2014 BMW. The current BMW 330 (G20) interior is nice -- more in German kind of way. But I wouldn't argue with someone who said they thought the Genesis interior was nicer. I actually think they are on par, but subject to personal preference as to which way a buyer would go.

my brother in law says hyundai's (in uk) are known for depreciating very fast, but his opinion could be seriously out of date.
like most europeans he's a brand snob and drives a mercedes. his shirts, shoes, golf gear etc. have to have the 'right' logos on them, same with everything else.

the g70 interior is nice, maybe a bit cushier, but not as cohesive.

Right -- the BMW is clearly more "German". But some people may like a "cushier" interior. To me, it's about personal preference when comparing those 2 interiors at comparable trim levels.

The G70 interior is acceptable for its class but a downgrade comparing to the newer Genesis interiors, like the one in the GV70. Aside from the diamond quilting, there's really not much that stands out in the G70's interior from anything else currently in the class, which tends to be rather plasticky and barren. I think the Volvo S60 is the most successful of the bunch, but Volvo interiors have little to differentiate them from one another.
The major flaw in the G70's interior has always been its basic instrument gauges and dated Hyundai infotainment. Both of those have been addressed in the refresh, but it's still nothing standout in the segment.
There's no question that the build quality and fit and finish of the G70 is pretty excellent though.
