Aside from the obvious regarding how a fully loaded G70 boasts superior performance and more features than an equivalently priced 330i, I also like that the G70 isn't a copy-paste in its interior or exterior of other Genesis vehicles. The 3 Series interior is nigh identical to that of a 2 or 1 series in its design and layout, and the exterior doesn't differentiate itself from the likes of the 5 Series more than its wheelbase length. The inevitable refresh will probably also slap that horrendous new beaver grille on it that's already on the new 4 Coupe and M3.

The problem with the G70 and other Genesis compared to the German vehicles is that there aren't really any high-performance engines and don't have much in the way of customizability. Then again, that's true of the Asian brands in general.

I am glad you brought attention to the styling. It’s all branding. Genesis has struggled for it branding style whereas BMW has it. Not sure the new front end of the G70 will work. But the GV80 has style. The outgoing G70 has grown on me a lot. I definitely think the G70 overall is a winner over the IS

I was a bit disappointed that the all-new 3.5tt by Genesis only hits 384 hp. Everyone else clears 400 hp...Cadillac did it. Lincoln did it. Infiniti did it. And Lexus certainly did it.

Styling is totally subjective.... Except for the Pontiac Aztec.

I have a '14 328. It's build quality is excellent--I'd say better than my prior 2nd Gen IS. My BMW has 70K miles--by that point with my Lexus, during the cold weather, there were definitely some creaks. Not so with my BMW.

He drove an Aztec; he didn't "like" it. As soon as he could, he ditched it for a Hemi 300.

It's a crap shoot on quality. My Is350 didn't have a single rattle at 60k miles but my buddies 335 had rattles galore at 30k miles. My RX was also amazingly rattle free at 120k.

I partially agree, and partially disagree. Styling is subjective when a single person is evaluating a particular vehicle. However, if one were to take a pole, or look at sales, one can get a sense of the "collective evaluation" of a vehicle's styling. For instance, most people like the styling the German brands, which sell very well, and not many liked the Pontiac Aztek--an abolished brand due to lack of sales.

Personally, I look at styling like the baseball metaphor of getting a hit. Many strike out, a lot get to first and second base, but triples are harder to come by, and home runs are rarer still. I give the new G70 a stand-up double!

BMW M340 doesn't clear 400 HP. Why no criticism of BMW? And didn't Lexus do it with the IS-F? That's a specialty car. Are you asking why hasn't Genesis produced high HP a limited edition?

BMW M340 uses an inline 6...so it is excused.

What about the IS350? Since 2006, its HP has increased .... by 5. It now has 311. THAT is a joke. The V6 IS300 has 260 HP. Not an inline 6.

The new Genesis 2.5T has 300 HP.

Nothing wrong with a V6. Nissan GTR has a V6 and it still outruns anything Toyota or BMW has ever made.

It read like you excused BMW for not clearing 400hp because it has an inline 6 while criticizing Genesis for only getting 365hp with a V6.

Genesis could easily get 400hp out of their engine but probably at the expense of fuel efficiency which they didn't want to do. Also, I don't know if their in-house tranny can hold that much power. Genesis also isn't marketed as a high performance brand so doesn't seem like they need to crack 400hp.
